During my college years, the idea of having a cat took root in my heart. However, the limited living space and busy academic schedule made this wish have to be put on hold for the time being. After graduating this year, I moved to the city where my boyfriend works. After some discussion, we decided to welcome a cat into our lives.
We selected a cattery to choose a cat. Originally, I had my heart set on a blue – and – white cat. But the moment I saw the silver – shaded cats, I was instantly attracted by their beauty. Among the many silver – shaded cats, one was extremely lively and caught our attention at once. Eventually, we spent 1900 yuan to bring it home and named it Hu Tutu because my boyfriend’s surname is Hu.
When Tutu first arrived home, it seemed very timid. It carefully observed the surroundings and dared not move around casually. At the same time, it was extremely clingy. At night, it had to sleep on the pillow above our heads. If we didn’t let it, it would meow cutely. That sound seemed to have a hook, instantly melting both my boyfriend’s and my hearts. During that period, Tutu was very obedient. It either ate or slept. Sometimes when I was lying in bed, it would fall asleep beside me and then slowly come over and lie next to my arm to continue sleeping. Its cute appearance made my heart flutter.

As time passed, after about a week, Tutu gradually got familiar with the environment and started to become restless. It was no longer satisfied with staying obediently on the pillow to sleep and was keen on running around at midnight. Several times, when I was sound asleep, it suddenly jumped onto my chest. At that moment, I felt like spitting out a mouthful of blood. Helplessly, my boyfriend could only lock it in the living room before going to bed at night. At first, Tutu would just meow non – stop when locked outside. Later, it became smart and started to wait at the door. As soon as my boyfriend or I opened the door to go to the toilet, it would rush in with a whoosh and couldn’t be stopped at all. Later, it even learned to open the door by itself. Since then, my boyfriend has to outwit it every day.
Sometimes, I really doubt that we are not raising a cat but a little pig. Tutu is really a big eater. It seems to be eating us out of house and home. We usually feed it Acana cat food and sometimes cook chicken breast for it. Although Tutu is young, it has a very strong body and has never had soft stools or diarrhea.
Silver – shaded cats have a particularly good temper. Once, Tutu got ear mites. After we cleaned its ears with ear cleaner and dropped the medicine, its whole head and body were splashed with yellow medicine. To prevent it from licking the medicine, we had to take it to the bathroom to rinse. It could be seen that it was very afraid of water, but it didn’t make a fuss, hiss, or struggle. It just silently walked towards the door. When we caught it back, it walked away silently again. Its appearance was both pitiful and cute.
Moreover, silver – shaded cats are extremely curious and clingy. Every time I go to the toilet, when I look up, I can see a round head peeping at me sneakily. When the toilet door is closed, it will squeeze in through the crack to continue peeping. When we are having a meal, it will curiously jump onto the dining table to see what we are eating. Sometimes when I am putting on makeup, it will sit next to the stool or jump onto the chair and table to watch what I am doing. Every day, I am charmed by its cute appearance.
The arrival of Hu Tutu has added countless joys and colors to our lives. Its liveliness, gluttony, curiosity, and clinginess have made us deeply fall in love with it. During the days of getting along with it, we have witnessed its growth and also harvested full happiness. I believe that in the days to come, Tutu will continue to accompany us and bring us more unexpected surprises.
