In our lives, the arrival of Walnut is like a bright meteor. Although short – lived, it is extremely dazzling. In just one month, it has completely integrated into our world, bringing countless joys and warmth.
Since childhood, Walnut has shown amazing good habits. It knows how to use the litter box by itself. Every time it poops, it will carefully bury it, keeping the living environment extremely clean. This has made it much easier for us, new cat owners. Recently, we have tried not to let it sleep on the bed, so we close it in the living room at night. But every morning at six o’clock, it will meow at the bedroom door on time. Its pitiful voice seems to be telling the grievance of being left alone in the living room, making us feel unbearable.
Walnut is extremely clingy. Perhaps because it is in the teething period, it purrs all day long and bites gently from time to time. It is naughty and mischievous so often that it’s countless. Recently, it is especially obsessed with getting into flower pots. A pot of lush Epipremnum aureum in our home is almost dying under its toss. Whenever this happens, my boyfriend will helplessly lock it in the small dark bathroom and then say to me with a bit of frustration, “……The cat seems to dislike me. Is it because I always shout at it?” Looking at his lost look, I also feel a bit sorry for the little friction between Walnut and my boyfriend.

Raising a cat has brought us an unparalleled experience of companionship. When I am immersed in the world of books or focused on playing games, Walnut will always quietly stay by my side, licking its fur on its own. The warm scene makes time seem to slow down. When I am putting on makeup in the morning to go to work, it plays happily on the windowsill. The sunlight shines on it, outlining a beautiful picture of life. Sometimes, my boyfriend and I can’t find a way to pass the free time for a while, and petting the cat becomes the perfect solution. With Walnut, there is obviously more vitality at home, as if there is an extra “person”. It has inspired our strong desire to talk. We will share every bit of our lives with it. Although we know it may not understand, the feeling of communication is extremely wonderful.
Walnut is very picky about food. It is fond of dairy products, meat, and even has a soft spot for things with a bit of sweetness. However, it turns its nose up at all foods with seasonings. Interestingly, it especially dislikes the smell of orange and tangerine peels. But unexpectedly, what it likes most is to drink foot – washing water. This unique taste often makes us laugh and cry.
Walnut not only has outstanding looks but is also very smart. It is like a naughty little girl, always loving to make a fuss. Now it starts to jump around in various rooms. Sometimes, when its feet slip, it looks exactly like a panicked little mouse. But when you want to call it over, it pretends not to hear and just sits there obediently, looking at you with its smart eyes, making you angry and funny at the same time. When we are cooking in the kitchen, it will quietly sit outside the glass door, looking inside eagerly, seemingly very curious about the delicious food. Every time we see this scene, my boyfriend’s resistance to it instantly drops to -100. He simply can’t resist its cute appearance.
While a three – month – old Walnut is like a little princess playing with a doll, elegant and cute. It is like a treasure cat, bringing us new surprises and discoveries every day. Watching Walnut grow up day by day with our own eyes, we are filled with joy.
As for the origin of Walnut’s name, it is a story full of fun. When we went to pick it up and bring it home, we hadn’t had time to buy a cat carrier, so we put it in a paper box of Six Walnuts. My boyfriend joked at that time, “Well……We can walk a walnut in the future.” Unexpectedly, this temporary name has become its name and a unique memory in our lives. Walnut, this cute and naughty cat, has become an indispensable part of our lives. We look forward to creating more beautiful memories with it.
