This summer, a little cat named Mao Mao entered my life and added countless colors to my otherwise ordinary daily life ever since. When 51 – day – old Mao Mao first stepped into my home and was placed on the sofa, its expression of full of disgust and the way it jumped around on the sofa with its baby hair still sticking out are still clearly imprinted in my mind. I was sitting on the sofa, and it walked over carefully and gently licked my leg. At that moment, I knew that it had recognized me as its master.
During the summer vacation, I was busy with classes every day and had to prepare lessons carefully every night. Mao Mao always accompanied me quietly at my feet. Its presence was like the warm sun in winter, bringing me endless warmth. With it by my side, I slept more soundly at night than before. It was from then on that I made up my mind to give it the best cat food and let it grow up healthily and happily.
However, the process of choosing cat food was not smooth. I bought well – known brands of cat food such as Orijen and Acana for it successively, but this little guy was very picky and not interested in these cat foods at all. It was really a difficult – to – serve “master”. Nevertheless, when I saw its cute appearance, all my troubles disappeared in an instant. Once, when it was curled up in a corner sleeping, I couldn’t help but think of a German phrase “Träume süß” (sweet dreams). At that moment, I fell deeply in love with this little guy and wondered in my heart how there could be such a cute little life.

Mao Mao is also extremely naughty. It would dislike the fake fish I bought for it. Its disgusted little eyes seemed to be saying, “Master, why did you buy this for me!” Later, unfortunately, Mao Mao got ringworm. Looking at its pitiful appearance, I was extremely anxious and worried every day. I searched for doctors and asked for remedies everywhere. When I saw a Zhihu user recommend Livshashi, I didn’t hesitate to buy four boxes. Fortunately, before using up three boxes, Mao Mao recovered, and the big stone in my heart finally dropped.
Mao Mao seems to live a more comfortable life than me. I even specially went to the supermarket to find sugar – free yogurt for it. It also especially likes to steal my snacks. Every time after stealing, it pretends to know nothing, which makes people laugh. When I read books and prepare lessons, it always likes to compete with me for a place on the table or stay quietly beside me, looking as if it is saying, “Master, I want to study together too.”
Mao Mao also has some habits that make people angry and funny at the same time. It likes to jump onto the bed and play heartily on the soft quilt; it likes to run to the kitchen sink and explore that mysterious little world; and what’s more headache – making is that it also likes to drink toilet water. In order to prevent it from coming into contact with unhygienic things, except for the study and the living room, I have to close the doors of other places casually. Every time I go home, if it is hungry, it will run over happily to greet me; if it is not hungry, it doesn’t know which corner it is hiding in stretching.
The days of raising Mao Mao make me feel like I am raising a son. When I go out to play, my heart is always thinking about it, worrying whether it will be lonely at home and whether it has eaten well. Although Mao Mao is naughty and mischievous, its gentleness, cuteness, and clinginess have made me fall in love with it deeply. It has become an indispensable part of my life. I look forward to spending more wonderful times with it, witnessing its growth, and accompanying it through every spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
