My Adorable Cat Lucky: A True Blessing in My Life

My Adorable Cat Lucky: A True Blessing in My Life

Among all my expectations for a cat, having one that catches my eye and has an affectionate personality to accompany me for a decade or two is the most wonderful vision. And the appearance of “Lucky” has turned this vision into a reality.

Before going to see Lucky, I had in – depth conversations with its original owner, learning a lot about its habits and personality. The original owner said it was extremely clingy, but at that time, I was skeptical. Previously, I had seen another 7 – month – old kitten. Its owner also claimed that the kitten was very affectionate and even sent me a video. However, when I went to see it in person, the kitten was very shy and not close to its original owner at all. So, when Lucky’s owner mentioned its clingy trait, I didn’t hold out much hope.

But fate is always full of surprises. When I stepped into the original owner’s house, Lucky, who was in the cage, immediately came over and affectionately rubbed my hand. After opening the cage, it faced the strange me without the slightest bit of timidity and quickly started playing with me. Its enthusiasm and familiarity made me greatly surprised. Although my home hadn’t prepared anything for it at that time, I still resolutely decided to take it home on the same day.

The original owner mentioned that Lucky was in the awkward stage, with pointed ears and face and a relatively thin body, and was looking forward to it becoming round and lovely soon. At that time, Lucky was almost 6 months old. The original owner reminded me that compared to kittens two or three months old, it might have a stronger stress reaction. After arriving at the new home, it might hide under the bed or in a hidden corner and might not be willing to come out until about a week later, and might even not eat or drink for a few days. But Lucky’s performance was completely beyond our expectations. As soon as it arrived home, it was full of curiosity, sniffing and looking around everywhere, without any sign of fear. I could easily pick it up and stroke it, and it didn’t hide. It was as calm as if it had long been familiar with this home. That night, it started eating and drinking. While eating, it actually spat out a small tooth, which frightened me. After asking the original owner, I learned that it was losing its baby teeth.

As time passed, I gradually bought various supplies for Lucky. Perhaps because of losing its baby teeth, it didn’t like to eat cat food very much. So, I bought chicken breast and canned food and soaked them with cat food in water to feed it every day. The little guy finally started to eat with gusto. After only a few days of getting along, it seemed to have remembered its name. Sometimes when I called it, it would come over. Every day when I came home from work, as soon as I called it, it would run to the door to greet me, and then let me pick it up and snuggle in my arms obediently, not struggling or making a noise, enjoying this moment of warmth. It gradually became my “little follower”, following me wherever I went. At night, it started to lie beside me to sleep. Sometimes when I got out of bed to do other things, it would meow and follow me over, as if it wanted to see what I was doing. It really likes to “communicate” with me with its meows.

When I’m free and watching TV dramas, Lucky also likes to come over and show its presence. It will jump onto my lap or walk in front of me, attracting my attention, as if saying, “Master, play with me for a while.”

The name Lucky was given by its original owner. I heard that when it was born, it couldn’t nurse. Everyone thought it might not survive. Later, the original owner fed it with a bottle, and then it learned to find its mother to nurse. So, it was named “Lucky”. For me, having Lucky has greatly increased the happiness in my life. It’s like a gift bestowed by heaven and a true blessing in my life. In the days to come, I look forward to spending more wonderful times with Lucky, witnessing its growth from a lively kitten to an elegant big cat. I believe that it will continue to bring endless joy and warmth to my life.
