In my life, the lovely cat Tangyuan is like a bright star, lighting up every day of mine.
Tangyuan’s timidity often makes me laugh. Once, in the middle of the night, I went to the toilet without turning on the light, just looking at my phone. She walked over quietly. Suddenly, when she saw the face reflected by the light of the phone, she was so scared that her fur stood on end immediately. She looked like a fluffy little ball of fur. On weekdays, she would also be so nervous that as soon as she saw me coming, she would quickly hide under the sofa, as if I were some kind of terrifying monster. However, it is such a timid cat that shows amazing obedience in many ways.
Her only “naughtiness” is probably that she drinks water from my water cup, but in my opinion, this is also her cute little act. Besides that, she can be regarded as a “model student” among cats. She never knocks things off high places at home, avoiding a mess; when sleeping, she doesn’t jump onto our bed to wake us up, but quietly lies down beside the pillow and accompanies us to sleep; she never scratches the sofa and doesn’t make a mess at home, keeping the home tidy all the time; she is not picky about food, eats whatever is given, and never makes a fuss; and she never barks for no reason, disturbing the peaceful life.

An incident that happened last month made me deeply realize Tangyuan’s obedience. One day, she accidentally ate the string for wrapping zongzi. When we found out, the string had already been eaten by her. We were extremely anxious and immediately took her to the hospital for emetic treatment. I don’t know whether it was because of her delicate stomach or the emetic medicine used by the doctor. On the night after the emetic treatment, she was listless all the time. After returning home, she vomited six or seven times and even vomited blood. When we called the doctor, we were told that her stomach might be damaged. Looking at her lying there motionless, not even eating her favorite snacks, and staying quietly in the dark corner alone, I felt extremely distressed. What moved me even more was that even though she was so uncomfortable that she had no strength to walk, every time she wanted to vomit, she would stagger up and insist on going to the toilet or the litter box to vomit. Seeing her difficult appearance, I couldn’t help crying in pain. She was so uncomfortable that she lay quietly alone behind the toilet in the bathroom, and my heart felt like it was being pricked by countless needles.
We observed her all night, and the situation didn’t improve. The next day, we hurriedly took her to the hospital for an injection. Each injection lasted four or five hours. During this period, she would hold it in until the litter box was taken out before going to the toilet. Only once, she really couldn’t hold it in and urinated on the urine pad. Such a clean – loving cat really made people feel sorry for her. For several days, she neither ate nor drank. After four days of injections, her paws were swollen. Fortunately, later, when the blood test was done, all the indicators gradually returned to normal. Finally, she started to drink water, eat, and play with the cat teaser. At that moment, the heart that I had been hanging finally dropped.
Today is Tangyuan’s first birthday. Looking back on the bits and pieces of the year spent with her, there have been laughter, worries, and more importantly, endless love. Watching her grow from a timid little cat to the lively and lovely one she is now, I am filled with emotion. In the days to come, I only hope that Tangyuan can grow up healthily and happily. I will always be by her side, witness every moment of her growth, and give her endless love and care. Tangyuan, you are the most precious treasure in my life. I love you and wish every day of yours to be filled with sunshine and happiness.
