In my life, the arrival of Tangyuan is like an adventure full of surprises and challenges. This three – month – old silver – shaded British Shorthair female cat has an irresistible cute appearance, but in fact, she is a real little troublemaker, bringing me a lot of “troubles”, yet also making my life colorful.
I still remember seeing the video of Tangyuan for the first time. She was the only kitten of the big cat in the seller’s home, looking delicate and cute. At that time, without much detailed discussion, I confirmed the price and the delivery time and paid the deposit. Later, when I carefully watched the video again, I noticed that the seller (or perhaps the seller’s family member) was teasing the kitten with their hand. At that moment, I felt a faint worry in my heart. I was worried that Tangyuan would regard hands as toys. If this habit couldn’t be corrected, when she grew up a bit, a bite from her would be unbearable. Moreover, I also noticed that Tangyuan would fully extend her claws when playing, so I guessed that her character might not be very gentle. As it turned out, all my concerns came true.
On the day I picked up Tangyuan, I called the driver and heard her loud meows, which even overshadowed the driver’s voice. After about an hour and a half, I called the driver again to ask about the location, and Tangyuan’s meows were still clearly audible. It was not until I got off the car and held her in my arms that she stopped howling. The driver told me that she basically meowed all the way, with only a few short pauses in the middle, each pause less than ten minutes. She meowed like this for four hours all the way.
I thought that when she first arrived in a strange environment, Tangyuan would have a stress reaction, such as hiding in a corner and not showing herself. But unexpectedly, she didn’t have any of these behaviors. As soon as she entered the house, she started to explore curiously, as if she was already familiar with this home.
As time passed, Tangyuan’s lively and active nature gradually emerged. She was curious about everything in the house, jumping up and down, jumping onto the table one moment and getting into the cabinet the next, making a mess of the house. She especially loves the cat teaser. Every time she sees the cat teaser, she will excitedly pounce on it, jumping up and down to chase it, looking extremely cute. But sometimes, her enthusiasm can be a bit overwhelming. She often regards my hand as a toy and pounces on it to take a bite from time to time. As a result, she bit my finger until it broke the skin, so that I couldn’t use fingerprint recognition to unlock my phone or make fingerprint payments.
Although Tangyuan is so naughty, my love for her has not diminished at all. Looking at her chubby body, furry head, and those bright big eyes, my heart will be melted by her. She also has quiet and obedient moments. For example, when I am working, she will quietly lie aside and watch me busy; when I am watching TV, she will snuggle in my arms and fall asleep soundly.
The days spent with Tangyuan are full of various situations, but they also allow me to feel the unique charm of cats. Her liveliness brings vitality to my life, and her dependence makes me feel the warmth of being needed. I know that in the days to come, Tangyuan will continue to cause various “small troubles”, but I also believe that we will spend more wonderful times together. She will grow up healthily and happily under my company, and I will also harvest more joy and touches under her company.
