A few months ago, I welcomed a special little member into my life – Phoebe. She was less than four months old at that time. Before I brought her home, my friend told me that among the litter of kittens, she was the most affectionate one. When I first saw her, I was deeply attracted by her beautiful blue eyes. She is a silver shaded – tipped cat with points, but after getting home and looking at her carefully, I found that her coat color actually leaned more towards bluish – gray. This unique color made her look even more charming.
Phoebe’s performance when she first arrived home completely exceeded my imagination. She was not shy at all. Just five minutes after arriving, she started eating heartily. Ten minutes later, when she saw me take out the cat teaser, she became extremely excited and immediately started playing with it. I had never seen such a fearless and friendly cat before. At that moment, I knew that this little guy would bring endless joy to my life.
That night, there was more surprise. Phoebe actually started kneading. She looked so cute. If you turn up the volume of the video, you can even hear her purr like an engine. This sound seemed to have a magical power that instantly softened my heart. From then on, every night, I had a little warm – bedder. But she had a special habit. She always liked to sleep at my feet. Several times in the middle of the night, I accidentally rubbed her belly with my toes. She thought I wanted to play with her, so she immediately hugged my toes and fluttered and fake – bit them, often waking me up from my sleep. However, recently Phoebe has grown up a bit and seems to have her own ideas. She no longer sleeps at my feet but has changed to sleeping in my wardrobe. I think maybe there is my smell in the wardrobe, which makes her feel more at ease, and it is also more suitable for her to dream and grunt. It turns out that cats, like people, can flutter their limbs and mumble in their sleep when they have a nightmare.

Looking back on the days when I first started raising Phoebe, it was really full of challenges. The last time I had a cat, it was a Chinese rural cat, and most of the time my parents helped take care of it. So, I didn’t have much experience in raising a cat like Phoebe. Sure enough, at the beginning, little Phoebe’s health was not very good. Ear mites and ringworm recurred repeatedly. In order to take good care of her, I tried every means and developed the ability to bathe, shave, and clean her ears quickly. Phoebe is really very sensible. She never hisses at me or gets angry. Just when playing with me, she occasionally bites too hard. Although she has never bitten me, there were several times when she really hurt me. In desperation, I would gently bite her ear in “retaliation”.
Once upon a time, the toy with four rings was Phoebe’s favorite. She always loved it and carried it around all day to play. However, recently, after adding two new toys, a small mouse and a small feather, to the house, she quickly shifted her attention and was no longer so enthusiastic about the four – ring toy. Phoebe also has a little temper. It’s not easy to touch her belly. You have to touch her head first and get on good terms with her. Once, I took a snapshot of her. At that time, I inexplicably thought she looked like Nyanko – Sans from the anime. Her expression was so similar that it made people laugh.
Looking at these early photos of Phoebe, my heart is filled with emotion. At that time, there were so many things to worry about, from her physical health to getting vaccinated on time, and always keeping an eye on whether the ringworm had recurred. I almost held her every day to clean her ears and wipe her tear stains. Although it was hard work, fortunately, Phoebe’s character is really one in a hundred. Every time after cleaning her ears, five minutes later, she would act cute and coquettish in front of me again, as if nothing had happened.
Phoebe’s arrival has made my life colorful. She is not only my pet but also a good partner in my life, accompanying me through every ordinary and beautiful day. I look forward to continuing to witness her growth in the future and creating more beautiful memories together.
