Last month, a lovely cat came into my life, and I named it Potato. I still remember when it first came to my home, its appearance really startled me. It always stared at me with its big round eyes, looking fierce, as if it was very vigilant about this new environment. I was thinking to myself whether this little guy was not easy to get along with.
However, a few days later, I found that I was completely wrong. As time went by, Potato gradually got used to the new environment, and its lovely side was slowly revealed. It began to shuttle freely around the house, sometimes jumping onto the sofa, sometimes getting under the bed, exploring every corner of this new home. Every move of it was full of curiosity and vitality, and its cute appearance made me like it more and more.

Considering Potato’s health, I decided to take it to get sterilized. To be honest, on the way to the hospital, I was full of worries. I was afraid that it would be scared and struggle. But when we arrived at the hospital, the doctor’s words surprised me a bit. The doctor said that Potato was really “tough”. Facing the strange environment and the upcoming surgery, it didn’t show much fear. Just like that, poor Potato went through the “castration” surgery. After the surgery, looking at its small body, my heart was filled with distress. I silently prayed that it wouldn’t hold a grudge against me because sterilization is beneficial to a cat’s health.
To my surprise, after being sterilized, Potato seemed to be more affectionate towards people. Before, although it wasn’t cold – hearted, it didn’t take the initiative to be close to people either. But now, it often takes the initiative to lean against me and even gets into my bed to sleep next to me. Its warm little body sticks tightly to me, making me feel its trust and dependence on me. This kind of intimacy makes me extremely gratified.
My Potato is a silver tabby. Although it was almost two years old when it came to my home, its personality is very likable. When you want to hug it, it will obediently let you hold it in your arms and enjoy the warmth. In my opinion, such a personality is simply perfect.
However, after being sterilized, Potato also brought me some small troubles. Because it needed to take anti – inflammatory drugs, its stomach was affected and it started to have diarrhea. This made the house a bit of a mess, and I had to spend a lot of time and energy cleaning it every day. But whenever I see it with its block – shaped feces, keeping itself clean, I think it’s extremely cute. Potato is really a very clean cat, as if it has OCD. It will carefully lick its fur and groom itself neatly.
Recently, Potato’s Elizabethan collar was removed, and it became more active and naughty at home. It’s like a naughty child, making a mess everywhere. It will knock off the cushions on the sofa one moment and scatter the toys on the floor the next. This forces me to often clean the house with a vacuum cleaner. But within a few days, the house will become messy again like a doghouse. What’s more, yesterday it actually pooped in the back seat of the car. The stench filled the whole car, which gave me a headache. I’m still worrying about how to clean it thoroughly.
Although Potato has brought me a lot of trouble, it has also added a lot of fun and warmth to my life. Its presence makes this home more warm and lively. I love my Potato, this cute and naughty little guy, and I hope it can grow up healthily and happily all the time.
