In my home, I have two lovely cat sons, a Siamese cat and a silver – shaded cat. For a long time, I have always unconsciously mentioned the Siamese cat more often and rarely showed the interesting stories of my silver – shaded cat to everyone. The reason is that initially, in my eyes, this silver – shaded cat was really “stupid”. It was timid and cowardly, not close to people, and walked with a clumsy splay – footed gait, just like the silly son of a landlord’s family. Except for its cute face that could charm everyone, I really had a hard time finding anything particularly cute about it.
However, time is the best witness. After three years of getting along day and night and careful observation, I have to take back the one – sided evaluations I once had of it. I gradually discovered that on weekdays, although it seemed silly, slow – witted, and couldn’t even do simple actions like opening doors and drawers, once it came to matters related to eating, drinking, using, and living, major events related to enjoying cat life, it immediately changed as if it were a different cat and showed super – high intelligence.

Take eating for example. Every time I open a new bag of cat food, it can always perceive it in the first place and then quickly run over, accurately judging that this is fresh and good food. When eating with the Siamese cat, it is also unambiguous and does not hesitate to take the lead in front of the other cat to enjoy the food. And for snacks, it has an extraordinary ability to distinguish. As long as I take out different brands and types of snacks, it can always quickly select the one that suits its taste the most, and often the more expensive one. It’s as if there is a food treasure book in its little head, and it has a good understanding of the quality and value of various foods.
When it comes to living, there is an even more interesting story. Once, for some reason, I changed my house. The new residence was small, cramped, and very simple. From the first day I moved in, it got under the bed and was depressed and frightened for a whole month, rarely coming out to move around. At that time, I naively thought that it was not adaptable to the new environment and was a timid ghost who was full of fear of strange places. But later, when I changed my residence again and moved into a bright two – bedroom, two – living – room house that was clean and comfortable, everything changed dramatically. On the first day of moving in, when I took it out of the cat carrier, it was instantly filled with vitality and ran around the house excitedly.
It first carefully inspected each room, getting familiar with every corner of the new environment. Then, it lay down comfortably on the clean floor and posed in a leisurely and elegant lying – down posture, as if announcing that this was its ideal home. Seeing this scene, I suddenly realized that it was not afraid of the strange environment at all, but actually really disliked the previous shabby house. It has its own judgment and pursuit of the quality of the living environment and only wants to enjoy its cat life in a comfortable and cozy place.
As I get to know it better, I increasingly find that this silver – shaded cat is full of surprises and fun. It shows its pursuit of the quality of life in its own unique way. It seems “silly”, but in fact, it has its own wisdom and perseverance. In the days of getting along with it, these little interesting stories not only made me get to know it anew but also filled my life with a different kind of color and joy, making me deeply understand that every cat has a unique charm, waiting for us to discover and appreciate.
