Mango came into our lives when he was just two months old. At that time, he was incredibly thin, weighing only half a jin. His eyes were prone to tearing, and his bottom had been shaved, which made me suspect that he might have had diarrhea then. However, the pet store owner denied it, insisting that he was perfectly healthy. But the moment I held him in my arms, I knew I couldn’t let him go. My husband tried to persuade me to look at other cats in different stores, but I said, “Forget it. This is the one.” That night when we brought him home, he was such a tiny little ball. He climbed onto my shoulder on his own and fell asleep there!
Sure enough, after getting home, Mango showed symptoms of diarrhea and even had blood in his stool. I was so frightened! Since it was my first time raising a cat, I was at a loss and tried various methods. Later, I found an online store on Taobao recommended on Xiaohongshu. The owner of the store was a veterinarian. According to his advice, I bought metronidazole and some other medications to feed Mango. After more than a week, Mango got better! And from then on, Mango has never been sick again! I’ve seen many people say that common problems like cat ringworm and ear mites usually affect cats, especially kittens. But my Mango is extremely competitive and has never suffered from such illnesses again! Mango is really a remarkable cat! Ha – ha! Then began his long journey of growth! By the way! There was a particularly funny incident during this period.
When Mango had just been in our home for over a month, he was extremely fond of dashing out whenever we opened the door. Finally, one night when I was going out, the lights at home had just been turned off, and it was pitch – black outside. At that moment, Mango took a flying leap and rushed out without attracting my attention at all. Just like that, without my knowledge, he stayed outside for a whole day and night! When I got home the next day, I noticed that the cat food hadn’t been touched and the cat litter was also untouched. Immediately, my heart sank. I realized that he must have run out last night. I quickly started looking for him along the stairs, calling his name. When I called from the sixth floor to the fourth floor, the little guy finally responded to me. The stone in my heart was finally put down. At first, I was so afraid that he had already run out of the building or even out of the community, and then it would be very difficult to find him… Then I went upstairs along the direction of his voice and found him.
When I carried him home, I discovered that there was even poop on the doormat. Ha! Mango really doesn’t let his “resources” go to waste! After this incident, Mango never dashed out when we open the door again. Staying outside for a day and night without food or water, I guess he had a shadow in his heart! From then on, every day, Mango would see us off in the morning when we go out and greet us at the door when we come home at night. He is really a little sweet – heart! Slowly, he grew bigger and bigger!
Our Mango is really extremely beautiful!! Now he is already half a year old! He has grown so chubby. Mango also has a great personality. Even if Mango’s dad and I do things he doesn’t like at all, such as cleaning his bottom… he never scratches us. When he bites, it’s just a gentle nibble for fun. He’s not afraid of strangers. When friends come, they can hold and stroke him. He likes to drink water and doesn’t dislike taking a bath. When he often licks his fur, he even licks my hand incidentally. Mango’s dad is really jealous, ha – ha!
Although he often gets into trouble, breaking my beloved cup, overturning the flower pot, and pushing all kinds of small gadgets under the sofa… I still love him deeply. Raising small animals has been my dream since I was a child, and finally, it came true after I had my own home. Little Mango, mom will take good care of you!
