My Cat Wulong: Growth and Affection

My Cat Wulong: Growth and Affection

In my heart, there lies a special place for my dear feline friend, Wulong. Our journey together began under rather bittersweet circumstances. Due to the strict dog – catching policies in the city, we were forced to part with his older brother, a Border Collie. The house was suddenly filled with a thick air of sadness. After much deliberation and with a heavy heart, we decided to bring a cat into our lives, hoping to fill the void left by the departure of our beloved dog.

I casually picked a cat from the pet store without much prior knowledge about feline breeds. Little did I know that this seemingly random choice would turn out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. And that’s how Wulong came into our family.

Looking at his childhood photos, I’m reminded of how adorable he was. Right from the moment we brought him home, he showed no signs of shyness or fear towards humans. On that very first night, he comfortably climbed onto my bed and made himself at home. However, he soon revealed his picky – eater side. We bought high – quality cat food like the top – notch Peak venison and mackerel, but he simply turned his nose up at them, not even taking a single bite. It was quite frustrating, but his cuteness made it hard to stay mad at him for long.

One of the most endearing things about Wulong is his curious nature. There’s a fish tank in our house, and he could spend hours just staring at the fish swimming around. His eyes would follow their every movement, filled with wonder and intrigue. It’s a sight that always brings a smile to my face. Who wouldn’t be charmed by such a cute and inquisitive little cat?

As time has passed, Wulong has grown up, and with that growth has come some changes. His face has gradually become rounder and fuller, which only adds to his charm. But with adulthood, he’s also developed a bit of a rebellious streak. Now that summer has arrived, he no longer wants to sleep with me like he used to. And when I try to pick him up for a cuddle, he wriggles out of my arms, much to my dismay. It’s as if he’s telling me that he’s a big cat now and doesn’t need that kind of babying. However, his love for certain things remains unchanged. He still has a strong aversion to deer meat and has developed a new habit of trying to steal my yogurt. Every time he sees me with a cup of yogurt, his eyes light up, and he’ll start circling around me, hoping for a taste.

Despite his occasional rebellious behavior and picky eating habits, Wulong is truly a bundle of joy. He has brought so much happiness and warmth back into our home. His presence has healed the wound left by the loss of his brother to some extent. Every day with him is filled with new surprises and moments of laughter. Whether it’s watching him play with a toy, seeing him take a nap in a funny position, or even just observing his attempts to steal my yogurt, I find myself falling more and more in love with this little creature. He has become an irreplaceable part of our family, and I’m grateful for every moment I get to spend with him. I look forward to many more years of sharing my life with Wulong, watching him grow and continue to bring joy to our home.
