In my home, there was already a cat that added a lot of fun to my life. However, since I missed its childhood, there has always been a wish in my heart, which is to experience the process of carefully raising a kitten from a cub. This wish, like a seed, has quietly taken root in my heart.
By chance, I learned online that there was a litter of lovely kittens bred privately. The father of the kittens was an elegant silver shaded British Shorthair, and the mother was a gentle blue – and – white cat. When my family and I went to choose, the younger brother in the litter had already been bought by someone else. Fortunately, the younger sister came into our sight. At that time, she was only a little over one month old. She was petite but full of energy. She closely followed her larger – sized silver shaded British Shorthair father, showed great interest in her father’s thick tail, and played with it happily. The scene was extremely warm. What surprised me even more was that at such a young age, she had already learned to use the litter box to go to the toilet on her own and could also eat cat milk cakes freely. How could such a smart and cute kitten not make people fall in love with her? On that day, I happily brought her home and named her “Tuanzi”.
When Tuanzi first arrived home, she was as small as a furry little ball, exuding a tender atmosphere all over. Her eyes were full of unfamiliarity and curiosity about the new home. She walked cautiously, looking around from time to time, exploring this brand – new environment. Once, she hid in a corner. Her silver – gray fur blended perfectly with the surrounding environment. If you didn’t look carefully, it was really hard to spot her. She was just like a little smart – aleck playing hide – and – seek, as if saying, “You can’t see me, you can’t see me, you can’t see me.” Her cute appearance made me laugh.
Tuanzi’s birthday is March 1st last year. When we brought her home, she was less than two months old. Surprisingly, she wasn’t as timid as ordinary kittens when they first arrived in a strange environment. Perhaps because she was young and fearless, on the day she arrived home, she showed her casual side. She freely ate cat food and found a comfortable place to lie down and sleep soundly. She quickly adapted to the new environment as if this was her home all along.
Speaking of how Tuanzi’s name was determined, it can be said to be a stroke of fate. As early as when I decided to raise a cat, I had been longing for a silver shaded British Shorthair and had already come up with a name for it – Shuangniangtuan, with the nickname Tuanzi. Unexpectedly, fate was so wonderful. When I first saw this little cat, her silver – shaded fur and round figure were exactly like a cute Shuangniangtuan, perfectly matching the name in my heart. At that moment, I decided that she was the cat I had been waiting for.
Since Tuanzi came to my home, her life has been carefree, living a comfortable life of eating and sleeping every day. When she was a kitten, she didn’t have much energy. Often, one second she was still excitedly waving her little paws to pounce on the feather stick, and the next second her eyelids became heavy, unable to resist the sleepiness, and instantly fell asleep. Her sleeping postures were all kinds of strange. Sometimes she tossed and turned on the bed to adjust her position. After finally finding a comfortable place, she plunged into a deep sleep, sleeping soundly. Her appearance was as if the whole world had nothing to do with her, only immersed in her own little world.
In the time spent with Tuanzi, every moment is full of warmth and joy. Every soft “meow” she makes and every affectionate rub against my leg make me deeply feel the happiness of having her. I am full of anticipation that in the days to come, I can accompany Tuanzi through every stage of her growth and witness her transformation from a ignorant little kitten to an elegant and charming cat. Tuanzi’s arrival has painted a colorful stroke in my life. I firmly believe that in the years to come, we will create more beautiful and unforgettable memories together.
