Datou’s dietary preferences really made me feel both helpless and amused. At the same time, they also allowed me to accumulate a lot of valuable experience in feeding him.
When I first started raising a cat,I naively thought that cats would be greedy for all kinds of meat. So,I carefully prepared a variety of delicious foods, including raw meat, boiled chicken breast, chicken liver, chicken heart, dried small fish, canned fish, and cat snacks, full of anticipation that Datou would enjoy them heartily. However, the reality gave me a heavy blow. Datou had no interest in these carefully cooked delicacies at all. He just took a faint look at them and then turned away, leaving me standing there in a daze.
After many attempts,I found that Datou only had a special preference for cat food. As soon as I took out the cat food bag,he would immediately run over, circling around me and constantly making an eager “wa wa wa” sound,as if urging me to feed him quickly. Occasionally,he would also eat one or two freeze-dried snacks, which was already a bit of face for me as the owner.

In order to ensure that Datou could get enough nutrients,I could only give him various vitamin tablets every day. In the matter of giving him medicine,Datou was very cooperative, which was also a little comfort for me,a worried owner. Every time he saw me holding the medicine bottle,he would come over like a curious baby, opening his bright eyes wide and staring at the medicine bottle curiously,as if exploring the mystery inside. When I fed the tablet to his mouth,he would obediently open his mouth and swallow the tablet. Sometimes, when he accidentally spat out the tablet,he would not run away but stand quietly in front of the tablet, waiting for me to catch him and feed the medicine again. His obedient appearance was really endearing.
During the process of feeding Datou,I gradually realized that every cat has its own unique dietary preferences. As the owner,we should not impose our own ideas on them but respect their choices. At the same time,we also need to ensure that they can obtain comprehensive nutrition through other means. Although Datou’s dietary preferences have brought me some troubles, seeing him growing healthily day by day,I think everything is worth it. I will continue to work hard to provide Datou with the most suitable diet and let him live happily in my home.
