On December 9, 2017, Mimi took a flight from Harbin to Hangzhou. I was super excited when picking her up at the airport. At first glance, I thought: “Hmm, she’s so tiny!” I had prepared a bunch of snacks, but Mimi didn’t even bother to sniff them—totally unimpressed.
Mimi’s First Day at Home

After arriving home, she instinctively used the litter box to do her business.
The first few days at home were quite bumpy. Since I live with my parents, my dad was especially opposed to having a cat. The process was intense, but the outcome was positive—Mimi officially became part of the family. One day, I suddenly noticed she had started to become clingy. Every morning, she would rub against me, and even if I didn’t see her near my feet while walking, I might accidentally kick her because she was always sneaking around.

The first time she obediently lay on my lap, I was so touched.
Today, I took her to get vaccinated and have her nails trimmed. Finally, I got to touch her little paw pads. After the vaccine, she was completely listless, which broke my heart. Normally, Mimi is almost never still when people are around, but this afternoon, she mostly slept on my lap, worrying me to death. At home, she’s a fearless little troublemaker—jumping, kicking, scratching, and biting—but at the vet, she clung to me like glue. During the vaccination, she looked completely bewildered, as if thinking, “Who am I? Where am I?” At the clinic, I met the owner of an orange tabby, who was probably also a “home tyrant.” The owner looked at Mimi and said, “Your cat is so well-behaved!” I could only smile bitterly in response. It was only after trimming her nails that I could finally hold her in my arms.

Mimi will be three months old tomorrow. I hope she can grow up happy and healthy in our home.
“I love eating my paws, they’re so tasty!”

Mimi’s little paws—my heart can’t take it!

What is she looking at so seriously?

She’s still quite small, but she’s grown a lot since arriving. I’ve also gained the courage to trim her nails. She still likes to bite me, but when I gasp in pain, she licks the spot she bit. I plan to take her for neutering around April after the New Year. Grow up happily, little Mimi—I love you!

Little troublemaker Mimi has learned to steal food. What a champ!

This treat is supposed to be given once a week, but today I came home to find a bag lying on the floor. At first, I thought it was leftovers from the weekend, but it turned out to be a brand-new bag!!
Goodnight, little rascal.
