Cici the British Shorthair: A Journey of Joy, Shedding, and Endless Cuteness

Hehe, the experience? Of course, it’s pure joy! Every day, besides work, my motivation to get out of bed now includes feeding and scooping poop!!!

Cici melts my heart every day!! Here’s a photo of Cici at just over two months old—absolutely adorable!

After browsing several catteries on Meituan, I spotted her in one of the owners’ WeChat moments. Yes, a little female kitten, hehe. Although I originally wanted a male kitten, I couldn’t resist her cuteness. I immediately rushed to the cattery, and my eyes couldn’t see any other cats. I spent a long time playing with her in front of her cage. Honestly, I was a bit hesitant at first, feeling like it might be irresponsible, but she was just too cute! So, with a mix of excitement and nervousness, I brought her home!

After bringing her home, I spent a long time thinking of a name. Such a cute girl deserved an adorable name. After much deliberation, I decided on Ruo Xi because she was like sunshine warming my heart. But the name was too complicated, and I was afraid she wouldn’t understand it, so I simplified it to Cici.

Her first bath was a luxurious package!

After the bath, she had a killer look in her eyes:

But she smelled amazing, and I couldn’t resist sniffing her a few times.

Today, I took Cici to the vet for her vaccinations. Watching her get the shot broke this tough guy’s heart. I even put her favorite toy in the carrier, but she ignored me after coming home and just slept near me…

Cici recently developed some thoughts about coding!

So cute, but no brains!

When it comes to studying, she’s completely useless—she falls asleep as soon as I open a book, hahaha.

She loves climbing to high places to survey her kingdom!

Now she weighs 1.25 kg and has noticeably grown bigger.

Every day, I diligently brush her fur.

She’s such a goofball, playing by herself like crazy:

Today, I took Cici to check her antibodies and get her rabies vaccine.

After the blood draw, she hid in a corner!

Such a scaredy-cat, hahaha!

She seemed a bit depressed.

Luckily, she has all the necessary antibodies.

She struggled during the first two rabies shots, so the nurse didn’t dare proceed. Finally, at noon, after the third shot, I comforted her until she almost fell asleep!! Now, just a few days away from four months old, she’s already shedding like crazy.

Update: She’s now 4 months and 10 days old. Recently, I’ve been brushing her fur daily and feeding her fish oil and egg yolks. The shedding has improved a bit.
