Lulu Miao’s Journey: From Illness to Recovery and Endless Cuteness

Lulu Miao’s Journey: From Illness to Recovery and Endless Cuteness

The next day happened to be a Saturday. I had planned to sleep in, but when I casually checked my phone, I saw that the vet had already sent me the results via WeChat. The first two tests were normal, but the third one—FCV (Feline Calicivirus)—came back positive. I was terrified.

She had only been home for a week and was already sick. I immediately contacted the pet store. The owner reassured me that it was a minor issue and asked me to bring her back for treatment. Since I wouldn’t be able to take care of her every day while working, I decided to send her back.

That day, I put Lulu Miao into the plastic carrier she had arrived in. She seemed to sense something was wrong and meowed the entire way. In the car, her little paw reached out from the gap, tightly gripping my clothes, and her cries broke my heart.

The store was very far from my home, and by the time I got off work and rushed over, it was already closed. So, I kept in touch with the owner via WeChat, asking for videos to check on her recovery. I even asked a classmate who lived nearby to make a surprise visit to ensure Lulu Miao was as well as she appeared in the videos.

The days without Lulu Miao at home felt so strange. The familiar jingling of her bell was gone. On the first day, the owner sent a video of Lulu Miao curled up hiding behind the litter box. I couldn’t hold back my tears and ran into my bedroom to cry. In just a week, I had already fallen deeply in love with this little creature.

After about a week, I brought her back home, but she still needed to continue with the eye drops.

The night I brought her back, as soon as we entered the house, she ran up to the second floor by herself. Haha, she still remembered!

I decided to dedicate one of the bedrooms on the second floor for her to sleep in, right next to my room. I would close the door at night and open it during the day.

Every morning, as soon as I woke up, she would start meowing. When I went in and saw that she had finished the food in her bowl, I would happily refill it.

She returned to her usual affectionate self, and I felt so happy.

I bought a cat teaser, and she loved playing with it. Doesn’t she look stunning? So sweet!

But occasionally, she had moments like this:

The cat teaser is now in her room, and no one can take it away. As soon as I try to move it, she grabs the other end with her teeth and drags it into a corner.

Even through the glass, she wants to play—looking so adorably silly:

On weekend mornings, I open all the bedroom doors, and she runs in, jumps onto my bed, and looks up at me with a silly expression:

The first time I took her for a bath, she didn’t seem to like her silver “ride”:

There were other little friends at the store, and our timid Lulu Miao finally had her first social interaction:

A Garfield cat really liked following us around, but Lulu Miao was too shy. She always hid under the sofa and didn’t interact much. Sigh!

Now, after a month, her face has become rounder. She loves holding onto my hand, like a little old man, hahaha. I’ll definitely get her a military-style coat for winter:

She also sneaks peeks, thinking I can’t see her:
