The Growth, Sterilization and Special Traits of My Cat, Diandian

On February 26, 2017, Diandian was sterilized.

Yes, it was sterilized when it was only six months old. This was an oolong incident. It all started when I accidentally saw Diandian licking its sensitive parts and mistakenly thought it was in heat. Then my boyfriend and I planned to take it to be sterilized. Also, because it was sterilized too early, its cheeks didn’t develop, and it turned into a V – shaped face, while I like British Shorthairs with round faces.

We took Diandian to a relatively large pet hospital for sterilization and used inhalation anesthesia. It recovered quite quickly. The castration surgery for male cats is simpler than the sterilization surgery for female cats. All they had to do was cut off its testicles, and they didn’t even shave the fur around its butt. It was still young and had no chance to meet female cats before seeing much of the world. It’s all my fault, sob. After the surgery, it looked so pitiful when the anesthesia hadn’t worn off yet.

Recorded on May 18, 2017:

I’ve raised Diandian for more than half a year, and this little guy already weighs 7 pounds. It has grown from a cute kitten weighing less than 2 pounds into a chubby cat with a sagging belly!

During the winter vacation, Diandian stayed at my boyfriend’s house and let loose. In the morning, it sat on the bay window to enjoy the scenery. At noon, it squatted in the toilet waiting for pigeons. At night, it slept in a double – layer cat cage.

I’m tired from playing. Let me lie down for a while.

When it was at my boyfriend’s house, it was a wild little tyrant, running and “singing” in the toilet in the middle of the night. But when it came to my house, it was a warm and cute little angel, acting cute and coquettish towards me every day.

Diandian has a very good temper. Sometimes when I see how cute it is, I can’t help but rub it vigorously. As long as I don’t pull its tail or pinch its paws, it will let me rub it quietly. Some cats have a bad temper and will stretch out their claws easily. At first, Diandian would also stretch out its claws. When I played with it, I would clench my fist and talk to it gently to soothe it. After several times, it stopped stretching its claws at me.

When we lived in an apartment outside the school, relying on the fact that both of us doted on it, it was very naughty. Because it had too much energy, it liked to run around crazily at night, jumping up and down. At night, we forcefully put an Elizabethan collar on it, and then it became a bit quieter.

Diandian is a purely indoor – raised cat, never going out of the door. But “some birds aren’t meant to be caged, that’s all. Their feathers are just too bright”, yes, it “escaped from prison”. We rented an apartment on the second floor. It slipped along the railing to the next – door room. I didn’t see it in its usual sleeping place and couldn’t find it anywhere. My boyfriend said slowly, “Could it have gone to the next – door?” We both peeked over and, sure enough, this guy was on the balcony next door, looking up at us innocently. The tenant next door hadn’t come back yet, and we couldn’t bring it back. So we had to coax it to jump onto the railing and come over by itself. Eventually, lured by delicious food, Diandian came back on its own. To prevent this from happening again, I bought a waterproof shower curtain to surround the railing.

My gaming chair has directly become Diandian’s exclusive.

I mentioned at the beginning of this article that you shouldn’t raise fold – eared cats. Diandian is a fold – eared cat. When I brought it home, I didn’t learn about this aspect. Later, a friend told me that fold – eared cats have congenital osteochondrodysplasia. The doctor said that the “boss – like sitting posture” in the picture above is a precursor to the osteochondrodysplasia of fold – eared cats. It sits like this because its feet hurt. When the symptoms become more obvious in the future, we will take it to get an X – ray. It needs to get more sunlight to promote calcium absorption.

Diandian is a real “expression king”~

Since it was a kitten, it has been especially fond of staring at people when they use the toilet. Why does it have such a strange hobby?
