It’s time to show off my cat. From a little kitten over 2 months old with ringworm all over its body, having its fur shaved, and being carefully raised, it has grown into a chubby cat about 9 months old now.
It was my first time raising a cat and my first time buying one. After paying the deposit, I was blocked by the seller. I was extremely hurt inside. Later, still having a lingering fear, I found out that a high – school classmate of my college classmate’s family ran a pet store. It seemed very reliable, so I went to pick up the cat in person across cities. At first, there was a litter of kittens, and I was dazzled. Originally, I took a fancy to another one with a more perfectly “eight – shaped” face and better appearance. However, there was a tuft of white fur on its back, shaped like a little heart, which made me resolutely choose it. After bringing it back, I found that it had ringworm on its feet. The boss said it was milk ringworm and would heal easily, and gave me some spray medicine. Then I happily took it home.
Later!!!! I was wrong!!!! The ringworm got more and more. On its legs, back, and gradually its whole tail was covered. I was so panicked that I skipped class and immediately took it to the pet hospital. The doctor said it was too young to take medicine and prescribed medicated baths, sprays, and some vitamin E or something. It cost about 600 yuan. After taking it home, I sprayed the medicine every day. But helplessly, its fur was too long and it didn’t work at all. I used up a bottle of medicine in three days, and its whole body was wet. After looking at many posts online, I still decided to shave its whole body, then soak it in lime sulfur mixture, feed it vitamin C, and buy all kinds of nutritious cat sticks for it to eat.
At this time, it was extremely small and ugly. Fortunately, it was June or July, and I took it out to bask in the sun every day. At first, it would meow, and I felt very sad, but there was no other way. However, after spending more than 1000 yuan on treatment, the most effective thing was the lime sulfur mixture that cost only a few yuan per bag. After washing it for two weeks, every other day, it got better in half a month. And then……………………
It couldn’t stop getting fat………………
Slowly, it became what it is now. It loves rummaging through the trash can, is aloof. When it doesn’t want me to pet it, it stays away from me. When it wants to be petted, it comes over and rubs against me. It doesn’t allow me to kiss it, depending on its mood. When it’s in a good mood, I can touch it. When it’s in a bad mood, it will bite me if I touch it. I’m so sad. Anyway, the whole process of raising this cat was very difficult. It’s not at all like those cute kittens of other people’s homes. But since it has been raised at home all the time, it’s only brave at home and very timid outside. After all, I raised it by myself. What can I do? Just let the cat be happy… However, I’m starting to consider turning it into a little “eunuch” (neutering it).
