On the journey of cat – raising, I have reaped double the joy and warmth. At first, the arrival of Gaogao, a little blue – point Siamese cat, added a touch of color to my life. However, as my studies got busier, seeing it alone at home looking lonely and hearing its non – stop meowing at night, my heart was filled with distress and helplessness. Its naughtiness also often left me amused and frustrated, biting data cables and scratching curtains as if it had endless energy. To keep it from being lonely and to gain some peace for myself, I decided to bring another cat home. Thus, Nuonuo, a little seal – point Siamese cat, entered our lives.
Gaogao and Nuonuo have distinct personalities. Gaogao is lively and active, especially fond of interacting with people. Whenever I’m at home, it always circles around me, gently stepping on my feet with its little paws from time to time, as if inviting me to play with it. Although it loves to frolic with people, it doesn’t like to be held in the arms for too long. Once picked up, it will immediately struggle to escape, like a little elf yearning for freedom. Nuonuo, on the other hand, is a bit timid and shy around people. Whenever someone approaches, it quickly hides, its cautious appearance both endearing and adorable. Interestingly, when held in the arms, it becomes extremely gentle, staying quietly without any resistance, like a well – behaved little baby.

When the two kittens first met, they went through a short “breaking – in period.” On the first afternoon after Nuonuo arrived home, it directly used Gaogao’s blanket, food bowl, water dispenser, and litter box, which made Gaogao unhappy and listless for the whole afternoon. Seeing them at odds, I felt like a worried “mother,” full of concerns. Fortunately, the charm of delicious food is irresistible. During mealtime, I took out a cat treat stick, and the two little ones were instantly attracted, gobbling it up. After enjoying the treat, they reconciled and snuggled up to each other affectionately. This scene filled me with relief. My girlfriend and I have different opinions about their “status” at home. I think Nuonuo is more like a tolerant elder brother, always giving in to Gaogao, while my girlfriend believes that Nuonuo has a lower status at home, which sounds a bit “pathetic.” Regardless, their interactions are full of fun.
Since Nuonuo joined the family, the most significant change is the much quieter nights. Before, when Gaogao was alone at home, its nighttime meows often made it difficult for me to sleep. Now, with the two kittens keeping each other company, they barely make a sound throughout the night. Finally, I can get a good night’s sleep. This tranquility and peace are brought by the double warmth.
Through this cat – raising experience, I am more convinced that if conditions permit, raising two cats might be a better choice. People often say that cats are solitary animals, but in my view, they also need companionship. When they snuggle up and play together, the joy they feel is beyond words. Since we choose to raise them, we should be responsible for their entire lives. To ensure Gaogao and Nuonuo grow up healthily, I’m willing to eat less and spend less myself to provide them with the best food and supplies. I know that feeding them well and using good – quality items can reduce the risk of illness. After all, when cats get sick, it not only costs a lot of money but also causes them to suffer from pain.
Now, the happiest moment of each day is the “cat – cuddling time.” Watching Gaogao and Nuonuo play, frolic, or lie quietly beside me fills my heart with contentment. They are not just my pets but important family members in my life. In the days to come, I look forward to creating more beautiful memories with these two little guys and letting this warmth and happiness continue forever.
