On December 19th, a new member joined our family – a two – month – old seal – point tabby Siamese cat, and we named it Meiqiu. When this little guy left its mother cat, it looked so pitiful that it tugged at our heartstrings. I eagerly hoped that it would grow up to have light fur like its mother.
When Meiqiu first arrived home, it was as timid as a frightened child. Its poor and helpless appearance made anyone who saw it feel compassion. Since there were already three adult cats in the house, to make it feel safe, I spent the first night with it on the sofa. It chose to sleep in the gap behind the sofa backrest, as if that small corner was its haven. In the middle of the night, in a half – asleep state, I felt something touching my hand. When I opened my eyes, I saw that Meiqiu had emerged from the gap. It gently poked me with its little paw, acting coquettishly and longing for comfort. At that moment, my heart melted. Under my gentle strokes, it gradually relaxed and finally fell asleep peacefully in my hand. Its warm and soft little body conveyed its trust in me.

The next day, Meiqiu showed amazing adaptability, quickly integrating into the big family and getting along well with the three adult cats. However, before long, its “Siberian Husky – like nature” was revealed. It seemed to have inexhaustible energy, chasing after its brothers and sisters every day, running wild around the house, jumping up and down from the living room to the bedroom without stopping for a moment. It also had a special fondness for shoes, often dragging them all over the place and taking bites out of them from time to time. Toilet paper became its “toy”, torn into pieces and scattered all over the floor. When it got excited, it would let out all kinds of strange cries, the sounds of which were so diverse and funny that they couldn’t help but make people laugh.
Meiqiu was not only naughty but also a real “foodie”. Its appetite was astonishing. After finishing its own cat food, it would go for its brothers’ and sisters’. Watching its gluttonous appearance was both annoying and endearing. From December 19th when it arrived home to January 20th, in just one month, its weight increased from 918 grams to over 1680 grams. Its little face also became round and chubby, looking extremely cute.
Watching Meiqiu grow up day by day, I am filled with joy, but also have a little worry. As is well – known, the fur color of Siamese cats may darken as they age, which is commonly referred to as “turning dark”. I just hope that Meiqiu won’t “darken” when it grows up and can have light – colored fur like its mother, maintaining its current cute and delicate appearance.
The arrival of Meiqiu has added countless joys and vitality to our home. From the initially timid and pitiful little one, it has gradually grown into a lively and naughty “little overlord”, and every change has been a pleasant surprise. It is like a little sun, warming our home and each of our hearts in its unique way. In the days to come, I look forward to continuing to accompany Meiqiu as it grows, witnessing more wonderful moments of it. No matter what it looks like, it will always be the most precious member of our family.
