To be honest, before getting a Siamese cat, I had come across questions related to raising them. At that time, I was quite touched by some of the answers. However, now that I’ve been raising one for a year and look back at these discussions, I find the most popular answer rather concerning.
Before purchasing a cat, it’s crucial to do thorough research. One should invest time in learning about the breed’s characteristics, dietary needs, potential health issues, and proper care methods. When actually raising the cat, attention to detail is essential. By being well – informed and meticulous, many common problems can be avoided. In the past year, my Siamese cat has only vomited a few times due to digestive problems, and otherwise, has been full of energy and vitality. I sincerely hope that others won’t be misled by some inaccurate information.

Although the person who provided the answer was responsible in dealing with the problems that occurred, their experience doesn’t represent the best way to raise a Siamese cat; in fact, it’s far from it. We should not always blame external factors when things go wrong. Instead, we should first reflect on ourselves. For example, did we fail to do sufficient research before buying a cat and end up with an unhealthy “week – old cat” (a cat that appears healthy at first but soon shows signs of illness due to improper breeding or care)? Did we cut corners in terms of convenience, cost – saving, or simplicity, which led to the cat getting sick or injured? We should refrain from making excuses for ourselves constantly. After all, it’s our responsibility to protect the cat.
Moreover, if one doesn’t have the financial means, it’s better not to raise a cat. Otherwise, the cat will only suffer along with its owner. Even if we give the cat to someone else to raise, regardless of whether they take good care of it or not, we should avoid creating such a difficult situation in the first place. I don’t claim to be an expert in cat – raising. The time my cat vomited was because I couldn’t resist and fed it too many cans. Another important point is that we should never think that what we’ve done is good enough. When we got a 60 – point score in school as a child, our parents wouldn’t compare us to those who got zero, right? It’s really frustrating to see some people not striving for better in cat – raising.
Recently, I’ve truly experienced that some people on Zhihu are quite good at distorting the truth and confusing right from wrong. It’s quite a mind – blowing and disappointing discovery. After all, I got silenced just for posting a reply for the first time.
Finally, for those who want to raise a Siamese cat, as long as you have enough time, energy, and financial stability, go ahead and do it. You will definitely not regret it. Raising an animal is not just about enjoying the company; it’s a heavy responsibility. We need to be fully prepared to take care of every aspect of the cat’s life, from its diet and health to its emotional needs. Only by doing so can we ensure that our feline friends can live a happy and healthy life.
