Siamese cats are renowned for their extreme clinginess and chatty nature, often being dubbed as the “dogs among cats”. My dear feline friend, who is now nine months old, came into my home when he was just three months old. Since then, he has been an absolute bundle of energy and mischief.
He has a penchant for wild running around the house, engaging in what I like to call “indoor parkour”. However, as soon as I dress him up in a little cat outfit, he turns into a docile and quiet creature. It’s truly a fascinating transformation. When he reached seven months old, it was time for him to be neutered. Unfortunately, the recovery process was far from smooth. His wound got infected, and as a result, he lost all his appetite. Day by day, he grew thinner and thinner until he was almost just skin and bones. My heart ached with worry and concern for my little buddy. Just when the wound was finally on the mend, he developed mouth ulcers. It was yet another difficult period for both him and me as we had to go through the trouble of treating his new ailment.

There is a common belief that cats become more docile and calm after being neutered. I had high hopes that this would be the case for my Siamese cat. But reality had other plans. To my surprise, he seemed to become even more mischievous and full of energy than before.
Despite his naughty antics, his extreme clinginess and high intelligence are truly endearing. Every morning before I go to work, he will come and curl up on my body, as if trying to persuade me not to leave. When I am about to step out of the door, he squats patiently at the entrance, his eyes following my every move. And the moment I return home in the evening, he is right there behind the door, ready to jump onto me with excitement. It’s these heartwarming moments that make every bit of the trouble and caretaking worthwhile.
Owning a pet has truly changed me. It has instilled in me a greater sense of responsibility and has given me new things to look forward to in life. I have come to realize that these furry friends bring so much joy and meaning to our lives. Here, I sincerely want to appeal to everyone: if you choose to love a pet, love it wholeheartedly. Because for them, you are their entire world. They may be just one of many pets in your life, but you are the only one they have.
Finally, I would like to share a photo of my precious little master, who has brought so much laughter and love into my life.
