Welcoming LiuLiu, the New Siamese Family Member

Welcoming LiuLiu, the New Siamese Family Member

Hving a long – haired orange cat as our first pet, we noticed that it seemed a bit lonely at times. That’s when the idea of getting a second cat, a “furry sibling,” started to take root in our minds.

I began browsing through the local listings on Xianyu, and almost immediately, my eyes were drawn to a particular cat. It was a tabby Siamese with an adorably dazed look. I was smitten right away. Without hesitation, I quickly contacted the owner. To my relief, I found out that the cat hadn’t been promised to anyone else yet. Without wasting any more time, I hopped in the car and set off to bring this new addition to our family home.

The day we brought LiuLiu home was filled with both excitement and a touch of chaos. On his very first day in our house, he decided to mark his territory by peeing in his cozy, furry bed. Later, as we were sitting on the couch, enjoying the warmth of the fire, there he was, gradually making himself at home. At that time, LiuLiu was only three months and six days old.

From that day forward, LiuLiu’s life in our family unfolded in the most endearing way. He turned out to be an incredibly clingy cat, not only to us humans but also to his big brother, the long – haired orange cat. He had a rather unique habit, similar to that of a dog, of often sticking his tongue out, which always brought a smile to our faces.

LiuLiu loved nothing more than sprawling himself across either my lap or, even better in his eyes, on top of his big brother. However, as he grew bigger and heavier day by day, his big brother started to show signs of annoyance. Despite the rejection, LiuLiu’s enthusiasm never waned. He was extremely energetic and mischievous. There were times when he could keep himself entertained, running around and causing a ruckus for a solid three hours straight. His name, LiuLiu, seemed to suit him perfectly. It was like he was constantly “on the go,” just as the name implies.

The story behind his name is quite interesting. When we went to pick him up, his previous owner symbolically charged 666 yuan as a sort of “ransom” fee. Initially, I thought the name “LiuLiuLiu” would be fitting. But as time went on, it felt a bit too over – the – top, so we finally settled on the simpler and more affectionate “LiuLiu.”

Despite the less – than – flattering photos my mom might take of him, LiuLiu is truly a handsome cat. His unique tabby markings, combined with the characteristic Siamese blue eyes, give him a charm that is hard to resist. He has brought a whole new level of energy and joy to our home. Now, with the long – haired orange cat and LiuLiu together, our house is filled with the sounds of their playful antics and the warmth of their growing bond. We are truly blessed to have these two furry friends in our lives, and we look forward to many more wonderful memories with them.
