In the days when I accompany NONO and Beibei, taking care of their daily lives has become an indispensable part of my life. Among them, trimming their nails and meeting their needs in different seasons contains many warm and interesting stories.
Trimming cats’ nails seems simple, but in fact, it requires a lot of skills and patience. Whenever I pick up that special nail clipper and prepare to trim the nails for NONO and Beibei, although they may show a little resistance, they are generally very obedient. Unlike what some cat owners describe as extremely difficult and painful, I am relatively worry – free in this process. When I start to do it, they can basically cooperate quietly, just occasionally their bodies will twitch slightly like having a cramp. At this time, as long as I gently say to Beibei, “Beibei, mom is trimming your nails.” It will immediately calm down, and NONO is also very obedient.

However, trimming cats’ nails cannot be done casually. There are many particulars. The structure of a cat’s nails is special. We can only trim along the white part above the blood line inside the nail, where there is no blood line. Once we trim too much, the cat will bleed and suffer pain. Because of this, the nail clipper specially designed for cats has become a necessary tool. Its special structure can better assist us in completing this delicate task. Every time I carefully trim their nails, it is an expression of my love for them. I hope they can grow up healthily and comfortably.
When it comes to how NONO and Beibei adapt to the seasons, their performances are also very interesting. Surprisingly, these two little guys with thick fur all over their bodies are not afraid of heat. In the hot summer, when the temperature soars to 40 degrees Celsius, the north – facing sunroom in the house is extremely hot. I estimate that the indoor temperature can reach fifty degrees Celsius. But as long as I open the door of the sunroom, NONO and Beibei will run in without hesitation and lie leisurely on the ground for a long time, as if the heat has no effect on them at all. This is really strange. However, in winter, the situation is completely different. Even though the weather has not become very cold, I turn on the heating for them early. Because I know well their habit of being afraid of the cold. After the heating is turned on, they will happily jump onto the radiator, looking for a warm corner and curling up comfortably. Looking at their contented appearance on the radiator, my heart also becomes soft.
In the process of taking care of NONO and Beibei, I have a deeper understanding of why people call cats “fur babies”. I am like a thin but tough old mother. Even if I may be sick all over, I still take care of these two little guys meticulously. Although they are sometimes naughty and cause me a lot of trouble, I have no complaints. Because in the little moments of getting along with them, that strong love has already taken root in my heart, making me willing to give everything for them. This kind of love is enough to resolve all the trivialities and tiredness in life, making every day spent with them full of warmth and happiness. In this small home, we accompany each other and spend every spring, summer, autumn, and winter together, continuing to write our warm chapter.
