Siamese cats have occupied a very important position in my life. I have raised two Siamese cats. They have completely different personalities, but both have left an indelible mark on me and have become a precious and complex memory in my life.
The first Siamese cat, I named it Xiaoxiongmao. When it was two months old, I brought it home from the pet store. At that time, I found that it had some ringworm on its body, and the environment of the pet store was really terrible. When Xiaoxiongmao first arrived home, it kept meowing all the time. Only when it saw people around would it stop. That night, it lay on me and soon fell asleep. At that moment, I felt its dependence on me, and my heart was filled with warmth.
Xiaoxiongmao had a very unique personality. It had a strange habit of not eating meat, but it was very fond of cat food cans. It was not shy at all and had a big courage. It didn’t have the usual aloofness and shyness of ordinary cats. Instead, it was as clingy as a dog and always liked to follow me around. Wherever I went, it would follow closely. When I took it out, it always attracted a lot of attention from people. The most frequently asked question was: “Is this a cat or a dog?” Because some behaviors and habits of Siamese cats are indeed different from those of ordinary cats. For example, they are more active and can even be walked like dogs.
However, Xiaoxiongmao’s fate was very tragic. Before I could have it neutered, it jumped off the building twice. It was lucky to come back the first time, but the second time, it left me forever. My home is on the third floor. Its departure made me sad for a long time. Every time I think of it, my heart is filled with self-blame and sadness. I blame myself for not taking good care of it and not having it neutered in time, which led to such a tragedy.
After Xiaoxiongmao left, after a period of depression, I decided to raise another Siamese cat. This Siamese cat was already seven months old when it first came. Completely different from Xiaoxiongmao, it was very timid. When it first arrived at home, it stayed under the sofa for at least a month. It only dared to come out to eat and drink at night when it was quiet. Looking at its cautious and timid appearance, I felt both distressed and helpless.
Slowly, under my careful care, it began to gradually adapt to the new environment. Now, it has become a super clingy “little piggy”. It eats and sleeps all day long and lives a very comfortable life. It also has a special habit of liking to smack its lips, and it especially loves to eat meat, which is exactly the opposite of Xiaoxiongmao. At the same time, it is not interested in cat teaser wands but only likes small paper balls. Every time it sees a small paper ball, it will chase and play with excitement.
After raising these two Siamese cats, my life has changed a lot. My mobile phone album is full of their photos. Every lovely moment and every funny expression of them have been recorded by my mobile phone. They have brought me joy and also sadness, making me experience the ups and downs of raising cats.
Here, I want to say that raising a cat really needs careful consideration. They are not just pets but also our companions in life. They need us to give enough love, care, and responsibility. Once you decide to raise a cat, you should be fully prepared, understand their living habits, and provide them with a safe and healthy living environment. At the same time, you should also be prepared to face various accidents and challenges because in the process of raising a cat, you may encounter all kinds of problems, just like my experience with Xiaoxiongmao, which is full of regret and pain.
But it is undeniable that cats can also bring endless joy and warmth to our lives. Their company allows us to find a little comfort in our busy lives and heals our hearts. So, if you have enough love and patience and the ability to take good care of them, then raising a cat may become a very wonderful experience in your life.
