In the days I’ve spent with my cat Yuanbao, every moment is like a bright star, inlaid on the curtain of memory, exuding a warm and charming glow. And the origin of Yuanbao’s name is an interesting and affectionate story.
At first, this lovely Siamese cat was called Dingdang by me. It took me a lot of time and effort to make her respond to this name. However, a little episode during the summer vacation completely changed her name. At that time, our family was immersed in the wonderful plot of the TV drama “Fuyao”. The pet of the male protagonist in the drama happened to be named Yuanbao. As soon as my father heard this name, he thought it was very pleasant and strongly advocated changing the name of my cat to Yuanbao. I was resistant in my heart. After all, it was not easy to make Dingdang respond to the old name, and now I had to change the name suddenly, which made me unacceptable for a while. So, I still stubbornly called her Dingdang.
But my mother’s words changed my mind. My mother smiled and said, “Dingdang, dingdang, so poor that it rings. Yuanbao, yuanbao, the more you call it, the richer you get.” Thinking about it carefully, there seemed to be some truth in these words. Lured by the meaning of the name, I finally compromised and decided to officially make her “Yuanbao”.
Finally, the day to take Yuanbao home arrived. On the day we went home, I took her to get vaccinated. The little one was extremely obedient, making me very happy. When she first arrived home, Yuanbao was full of curiosity about this brand – new environment. Her small body wandered around the house. At that time, she was still very weak and could hardly jump onto the sofa or the bed. But as time passed, she grew up rapidly and showed the lively and active nature of a Siamese cat. Now, high air – conditioners, cabinets, and curtains have all become her “playgrounds”, which she climbs and jumps on wantonly.
I am enthusiastic about using the camera to record every bit of Yuanbao’s life. Her long eyelashes are like delicate fans. Every blink seems to tell a silent story; her cute sleeping appearance is like a little angel, making people want to protect her; and her dazed expression when she is in a daze seems that the whole world has nothing to do with her, immersed in her own little world. Each photo is a testimony to my deep love for her.
Once, I was delayed by something and fed Yuanbao cat food later than usual. Soaking the cat food and waiting for it to cool down took some time. During this time, Yuanbao kept meowing at me. I was surprised to find that there were tears in her eyes. At that moment, my heart seemed to be hit hard, full of guilt. From then on, I secretly vowed never to let her go hungry again and to give her meticulous care.
Another time, I tried to call “Yuanbao”, and she actually responded to me crisply. At that moment, my joy was indescribable, and it felt like the whole world became brighter. This simple response made me feel the deep emotional bond between her and me.
The time when Yuanbao slept on me, I could clearly feel her warmth and trust. Perhaps in her heart, I am the harbor she can rely on. Looking at her sleeping peacefully on me, I feel that I am the happiest person in the world.
Now, Yuanbao has become an indispensable member of our family. Her presence has added countless joys and warmth to our lives. Every day spent with her makes me more deeply understand the meaning of having a pet. She is not only a cat but also a close friend in my life, accompanying me through those ordinary or wonderful times. I look forward to creating more beautiful memories with Yuanbao in the future and witnessing every growth and transformation of hers.
