In the wonderful journey of raising cats, I have experienced the transition from being tormented by an extremely mood – unstable orange cat to welcoming a Siamese cat, which is like a little angel savior. This process is full of twists and surprises.
At first, to fill the void in my heart, I adopted an orange cat, later known as “Liu Bai”, who gave me a lot of headaches.Its combat power when it was young was simply beyond imagination. The trash can was like a huge treasure chest to it. It rummaged through it every day with great enthusiasm and always deliberately kicked the cat litter out of the litter box, making a mess all over the floor. Not only that, it was proficient in naughty behaviors such as biting the wall, scratching people, and biting people. I couldn’t even escape its “demonic sound attack” when I hid in the toilet. Its sharp meows echoed in the narrow space, making me miserable. During those two months, I came home every day to a mess and its eyes that seemed to be provoking me. I felt that my life was completely controlled by this little devil.
Later, during the communication with cat friends, someone suggested that I raise a second – cat, saying that this could distract Liu Bai’s energy and prevent it from pestering me all day long. After careful consideration, this suggestion seemed very reasonable. So, after much deliberation, I decided that the second – cat would be a Siamese cat, which is known for being as affectionate as a dog.
Finally, on a Saturday in December, a Siamese cat named “Tuotuo” officially became a new member of my family. Tuotuo’s behavior when it first arrived home was completely different from Liu Bai’s. It showed no timidity or shyness at all. After a while, it started walking swaggeringly around the house, curiously exploring this new environment. When Liu Bai first came to my house, it hid under the bed for a whole week. During that time, I could hardly feel its presence, as if I was raising an “invisible cat”. From this moment on, I deeply realized that the title of Siamese cat as “the dog among cats” was by no means a false name. A glimmer of joy welled up in my heart, as if seeing a turning point in my life.
Sure enough, after Tuotuo came, Liu Bai’s attention immediately shifted from me. It circled around Tuotuo all day long, pestering Tuotuo to play. However, Tuotuo, who was mature, stable, and had a princess – like temperament, often showed a look of disgust towards Liu Bai’s enthusiasm. It seemed to be protesting silently: “Don’t you have any idea how annoying I find you?” Liu Bai’s skill of annoying people and cats was simply brought to the extreme. It was like an invincible big BOSS, “Guizi Liu”, making people angry and funny at the same time. But undeniably, Tuotuo’s arrival really helped me avoid a lot of “troubles”, allowing me to be temporarily freed from Liu Bai’s “torment”. Because of this, Siamese cats in other people’s homes always have round, curious, and lively eyes, while Tuotuo in my home always has a furrowed brow, as if feeling helpless and tired of Liu Bai’s behavior.
Although their relationship was a bit awkward at first, the two cats still smoothly got through this adaptation period. Next, it was the process of Tuotuo gradually conquering the silly and big – sized Liu Bai with its softness and cuteness. They began to show their affection in various ways, playing together and sleeping together, being very close. Tuotuo also showed off its hot figure from time to time, jumping and running nimbly around the house, attracting Liu Bai’s attention. Its cute and milky appearance was irresistible to Liu Bai. When the two cats were together, they were sometimes warm and sweet, and sometimes played funny roles, bringing endless joy to my life.
However, life is always full of surprises. After such happy days lasted for two months, a serious illness suddenly struck. Tuotuo was unfortunately infected with feline panleukopenia by a cat in my colleague’s house. When I learned this news, I was extremely anxious. Fortunately, it was discovered early, and I sent it to be treated immediately. During the five days in the hospital, I was on tenterhooks every day, praying that Tuotuo would recover soon. Finally, under the careful treatment of the doctor, Tuotuo returned home healthy.
During the period when Tuotuo was in the hospital, Liu Bai’s behavior gave me a new understanding of the emotions of cats. Originally, I thought that Liu Bai only regarded Tuotuo as an ordinary playmate. But during the four days when Tuotuo disappeared, Liu Bai’s performance touched me deeply. Usually, it didn’t like to meow, but now it started to “talk” to me non – stop, as if asking about Tuotuo’s whereabouts. When it noticed that I was in a low mood, it, which originally didn’t like to be close to people, actually came over and rubbed against me, trying to comfort me. At this moment, I realized that the relationship between them was much deeper than I had imagined.
After Tuotuo recovered and returned home, it became more active than before. When the two little friends, who had been longing for each other for many days, met, they immediately started their sweet interactions again, as if showing me their joy of reunion. Looking at their cheerful figures, my heart was filled with relief. In the new year, I sincerely hope that they can continue to be so lively and healthy, bringing me more joy and warmth. Let us spend every beautiful day together in this loving little home.
