Huagulong, my beloved Siamese cat, has been a constant source of surprises, laughter, and warmth in my life. His unique personality and amusing antics never fail to keep me entertained and on my toes.
A few days ago, when I got home from work, I was shocked to find that Huagulong, that silly little fellow, was nowhere to be seen. Panic immediately set in as I frantically searched every corner of the house. I was so worried that my heart was pounding in my chest. Just when I was on the verge of despair, I heard a faint, trembling meowing sound. I followed the sound, but still, I couldn’t spot him. I swear I looked in every nook and cranny of the house. Then, I happened to look up, and to my surprise, I saw a sight that left me speechless. There was Huagulong, perched high up in a place where I couldn’t reach him. He was clearly stuck and couldn’t get down. All I could do at that moment was offer him moral support, as there was no way for me to physically help him. For more than half an hour, we were in a standstill. And then, to my amazement, Huagulong seemed to give up trying to get down and actually started to fall asleep! I was so worried that something might happen to him, but as it turned out, I was just overthinking it. Suddenly, he took a leap of faith and landed safely on the ground. I had to admit, he was quite brave!

But that wasn’t the end of his adventures. Just yesterday, Huagulong was at it again, climbing up to a high place as if he had a penchant for defying gravity. However, this time, I had learned my lesson. I no longer worried as much about him being unable to get down. I had gained some confidence in his ability to take care of himself.
Huagulong’s personality is truly one of a kind. Firstly, he has shown me what it means to be “lacking in common sense”. People often say that cats are vengeful and hold grudges, but not Huagulong. Even after being scolded or lightly punished, the very next moment, he would go right back to eating and drinking as if nothing had happened. He would still follow me around like a loyal little shadow, completely unfazed by the punishment. My mother even couldn’t help but sigh and wonder if he was a bit simple-minded.
Secondly, he is incredibly kind-hearted. He is affectionate with everyone he meets. He has become a precious asset in our family when it comes to entertaining relatives and keeping children occupied. With him around, I no longer have to worry about spending hours playing with rambunctious kids. He has a natural way of charming them and making them happy, which has truly been a relief for me.
However, despite his kind nature, Huagulong is also quite timid. Anyone can easily “bully” him. No matter how much you play with him or tease him, he rarely resists. Even when he does try to put up a fight, he is no match for me. Looking at him, he seems so cute and innocent, but there is more to him than meets the eye.
The Huagulong I know now is quite different from the one in his younger days. When he was younger, he had a more vibrant and energetic personality. But as time has passed, like many Siamese cats, he has succumbed to the “curse” of darkening fur. His fur has become much darker, and he also seems to have a more laid-back and somewhat “dejected” demeanor. When I look at the pictures of him from the past and compare them with how he looks now, I can’t help but feel a bit nostalgic for his younger days. I wonder where that lively and playful kitten has gone.
Huagulong, my dear tiger – tabby Siamese cat, you may have changed in appearance and demeanor over time, but you will always hold a special place in my heart. Your silly antics, kind nature, and unique personality make you the most wonderful companion I could ever ask for. I look forward to many more years of adventures and memories with you by my side.
