The Adorable and Quirky Traits of My Siamese Cat

Extremely, Extremely Clingy

This is probably the most important characteristic that distinguishes Siamese cats from many other cats. My cat must sleep close to people. For example, he lies on my belly, snuggles up against my thigh or arm, and also rests his chin on it. At the same time, he will stretch out his paw and place it on top.

My cat insists on sleeping on the bed at night. The sleep schedule of cats is different from that of humans. They often sleep soundly during the day and only take short naps at night (the so – called night owls). So he always quietly jumps onto the bed after I fall asleep and lies beside me. It’s not until I turn over at night and touch him or wake up and feel a warm spot on my body that I realize there’s a cat lying next to me.

He wakes up very early too. The bed at home faces the window directly. In summer, it gets completely bright at a little past five in the morning. The cat will start to get restless, meow into your ear, start stepping on you, and patrol around the head of the bed. He is actually very well – behaved. When he brings his little mouse toys onto the bed to play at night, he does it quietly. He also walks around me when moving to avoid waking me up. But as soon as it gets light, he thinks it’s time for people to get up and continuously provides cat – style wake – up service.

Curious and Lack of Security

No movement in the house can escape his eyes. People must move within his sight range. Otherwise, he will follow closely step by step, such as following you to the bathroom or into the kitchen. His sense of smell is very sensitive. He will come up to smell everything I take out. He even curiously sniffs the calendula water, with his nostrils twitching, which is extremely cute.

The cat also likes to occupy the high points in the house, such as bookcases, window edges, bedside tables, desks, etc., in order to observe all the dynamics in the house. A few days ago, when I was hanging the laundry and the water was dripping onto the ground, the cat anxiously circled around the clothes hanger, as if thinking, “Our house is leaking. What should we do?”

The cat also really likes eye contact. He often stares at me with big eyes, showing an expression like “You’re going out? How long will you be gone? With whom? When will you come back? Will you still love me when you come back?” hhh

I used to think that cats were very arrogant and independent. Later, I found out that cats are also animals that lack a sense of security. For example, liking to occupy high places, getting anxious when they can’t see people, and trying to keep everything within their sight range are all manifestations of a lack of security. My cat is especially like this. He was less than five months old when he came to our house. Before that, he had already been in two different households. As a result, at the beginning, when he heard the sound of the door opening or saw strangers, he would hide under the bed and refuse to come out, for fear that someone would take him away. I really want to give him a lot of love so that he no longer has to worry about being displaced.

This was when he first came, with his eyes wide open.
