In the vibrant city of Wuhan, I finally found my adorable silver shaded British Shorthair in a well – known British Shorthair cattery. It was a pet – grade kitten, and after much negotiation with the lovely lady at the cattery, I managed to bring this little treasure home for 7000 yuan. To be honest, when I first made the purchase, I was extremely worried that I might have overpaid. When I first saw it, it was only two months old and didn’t seem particularly beautiful. However, when the breeder sent me the video, I immediately knew that every penny was worth it! The picture I have here is actually a screenshot from that video, without any photo – editing at all. Just look at those innocent big eyes! Who could resist such charm?
Ultimately, although many of my friends around me have silver shaded British Shorthairs, and I’ve actually seen some rather aggressive ones, I initially didn’t plan to get a silver shaded British Shorthair myself. But in the end, I just couldn’t say no to the innocent gaze of my little cutie. So, I decided to bring it into my life. From my personal experience, the prices of British Shorthair catteries in China seem to be quite stable. Generally, at this price point, it’s possible to get a beautiful pet – grade cat without much issue. However, many people might choose pet stores or other channels.

In my opinion, as long as you really like the cat and it’s healthy, the purchasing channel doesn’t matter that much. But still, I highly recommend buying cats from catteries! There are several reasons for this. Firstly, the health and appearance of the cats in catteries are generally well – guaranteed. They come with complete vaccination records, sterilization certificates, and various inspection reports. Secondly, the cats have wonderful personalities. Since both of my cat’s parents have participated in cat shows, they are gentle and affectionate, and this lovely character has been perfectly passed on to my little kitten. It’s so soft and easy to handle. Thirdly, the breeders are always ready to offer detailed guidance. You don’t have to worry about not knowing how to take care of the cat at all.
Oh, and the breeder lady told me that all the pet – grade rare – colored British Shorthairs in her cattery are priced the same! Whether it’s a pet – grade golden shaded British Shorthair or a cream – colored one, they all cost the same. That’s really exciting news! I’m already looking forward to the opportunity to bring home a golden shaded British Shorthair in the future and make a pair with my current silver shaded British Shorthair.
Bringing my silver shaded British Shorthair home has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Every day, I’m greeted by its warm presence and cute antics. Watching it grow and develop has become a source of great joy in my life. It’s not just a pet; it’s a beloved member of my family. I’m grateful for the decision I made to choose this little feline friend from the cattery, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our growing family of cats.
