One evening, while strolling around the streets with a friend, we passed by a pet store. Instantly, my attention was completely drawn to the cats inside. The moment we pushed open the door, a shop assistant lady immediately picked up a little cat and placed it in my arms. The moment I held her, I had an overwhelming feeling that she was meant to be my cat. The lady told me that this cat, named Meimei, was not for sale. She was already six months old and was intended to be the “child – bride – to – be” for another two – year – old silver shaded British Shorthair in the store.
That night when I got home, I could barely sleep. I was truly and deeply in love with Meimei. I liked her so much that my mind was filled with thoughts of her. The next day, I couldn’t resist going back to the pet store to talk to the owner. The owner said that it was possible to sell her, but it depended on the decision of the person in charge. After much pleading and discussion, they finally agreed to sell Meimei to me. I was overjoyed! It was truly love at first sight for me and Meimei. When I opened the cage, she immediately rushed into my arms, and I felt an indescribable sense of contentment.
Later, I learned that on the very night my friend and I first saw Meimei, the shop assistant lady had already finished her work. She just wanted to stay in the store for a little longer. If we had arrived a few minutes later, the store would have been closed. It was truly a stroke of fate. This encounter made me believe that some things in life are just meant to be.
Since bringing Meimei home, every day has been filled with joy and surprises. At first, she was a bit shy and cautious, exploring every corner of her new home with curiosity. But as time passed, she gradually became more relaxed and showed her true, lovely personality. She loves to follow me around the house, and when I sit on the couch, she will jump up and curl up on my lap, purring softly. Her soft fur and warm body make for the most comfortable and affectionate companion.
Meimei also has her own unique quirks. She has a particular fondness for a small, fluffy toy. She will carry it around in her mouth, playing with it for hours. Sometimes, she will even sleep with it clutched tightly in her paws. It’s really cute to watch her interact with her favorite toy. And when it comes to meal times, she gets very excited. She will meow loudly, circling around her food bowl, impatiently waiting for me to fill it up.
I am so grateful for that chance encounter at the pet store. Meimei has not only become my beloved pet but also an important part of my life. She brings me warmth, joy, and unconditional love every day. I look forward to spending many more wonderful years with her, creating countless beautiful memories together. She is truly a precious gift that fate has bestowed upon me.
