My Adorable and Well-behaved Cat, Tuteng: A Pleasant Surprise

My Adorable and Well-behaved Cat, Tuteng: A Pleasant Surprise

Before bringing Tuteng home, the doctor reminded us that a kitten usually has a hiding period of about a week when it enters a new environment, and its true nature will only be revealed after that. In reality, Tuteng is an honest little cat, and there is no difference between her behavior before and after the one-week period. She has truly changed my perception of cats, these amazing creatures, to a large extent. (I used to be a dog lover.)

First of all, she knows how to use the litter box on her own. I was aware that cats are generally able to use cat litter, but having read many posts about cats urinating everywhere, I was still very worried. (My cleanliness-obsessed mother is not someone to be trifled with.) Since Tuteng came to our home, regardless of which room she sleeps in, whether it’s day or night, she will get up on her own and go to the litter box in the living room to relieve herself. This has really put my mind at ease and saved us from a lot of potential mess.

Secondly, she has never knocked anything over. I’ve seen many posts online about cats being a bit mischievous with their paws, deliberately knocking cups and other items off the table. However, Tuteng has never done such a thing. No matter how many things are on the table, she will carefully avoid them. There are many small ornaments in our living room, and she will walk around them gently, showing great care and consideration. It’s as if she understands that these things are precious and should not be damaged.

Thirdly, she rarely makes a sound. During the first month she was with us, she didn’t even let out a single meow. I tried to get her to respond by meowing at her every day, but she simply ignored me. Every day, all I could hear was my own “meows” in the house, and I even began to wonder if she was mute. Now that she’s in her first heat (we couldn’t get her spayed as the vaccination series wasn’t completed yet), she occasionally makes a soft sound, but it’s extremely quiet. Her quiet nature makes our home peaceful, and it’s also a unique characteristic that makes her even more endearing.

Fourthly, her temper is incredibly good. When I clean her ears (anyone who has done this knows how difficult it can be), brush her teeth, or trim her nails, she has never scratched or bitten me. At most, she will stretch out her paw to gently push my hand away. When she plays, she seems to know where my body is and will avoid stepping on me when she runs and jumps. When I take her to get vaccinated, she gets scared and will burrow into my arms. And during the injection, she doesn’t resist at all. The doctor was also amazed and said, “How can she be so obedient?” I’d like to share a picture of her getting a shot. In the picture, she curls up into a ball in my boyfriend’s arms, looking both cute and a bit timid.

Tuteng has become an indispensable part of our family. Her well-behaved and gentle nature has brought us so much joy and comfort. She has proven that cats can be just as lovable and easy to care for as dogs. Every day spent with her is filled with warmth and happiness. Whether it’s watching her use the litter box neatly, seeing her carefully navigate around our belongings, or enjoying the rare moments when she makes a soft sound, each moment is precious. I’m so grateful to have her in my life, and I look forward to accompanying her through all the stages of her growth, creating more beautiful memories together.
