In my life, there is a special presence, and that is my cat, Nuomi. It was born on August 1st, 2017, and it also has an interesting nickname, Hu Bayi. Despite the unique name, Nuomi is actually an adorable little female cat.
Nuomi was one of the few remaining British Shorthair cats in the cattery. Because it didn’t look very outstanding when it was a kitten, I brought it home at a discounted price. Compared with its siblings, they were much more expensive.
In December last year, the weather was extremely cold when I brought Nuomi home. This little guy had never been out before. I carefully wrapped it in my coat and carried it to the car. I still remember the scene when I tried to take it out of the coat. It was really hilarious. Its head got stuck in the coat, and no matter how I tried to pull it out, it just wouldn’t budge. I was so worried about hurting it, feeling both anxious and amused.

When Nuomi first arrived home, it was very timid. It always hid in the box and refused to come out. Sometimes it would hide under the bed or behind the sofa, looking as if it was thinking, “You can’t see me, you can’t see me.” When I opened a can of cat food for it, it would only take a few bites. As soon as I looked at it, it would immediately shrink back, being very cautious.
However, as time passed, Nuomi gradually became bolder and more clingy. As soon as I reached out my hand, it would put its head on my hand, and then it would lie down. But after lying down, it would slide off my leg. But it wasn’t discouraged and would climb back up and lie down again. Its cute appearance was irresistible.
When Nuomi was a kitten, it especially liked to climb. My head and shoulders were its favorite places to lie on. Even when I went to the toilet, it would lie on my shoulder, as if it didn’t want to be separated from me for a moment.
Nuomi really likes to sleep on the bed, but because I suffer from severe insomnia, I usually don’t let it into the bedroom. I let it sleep on the sofa at night, but it’s not happy about that. It will keep scratching at the door and meowing, trying to get me to let it in. Now, as soon as it gets dark, it will secretly sneak into the bedroom and hide under the bed. Usually, I will carry it out when it comes onto the bed asking for a hug, or I will open the kitchen door. This little silly cat will immediately run over as soon as it hears the sound of the kitchen door opening, which is really both annoying and funny.
Nuomi is a real foodie, but strangely enough, it doesn’t gain weight. It always tries to 抢 food with me and even stole my duck necks. It was so spicy that it had tears in its eyes, looking both pitiful and funny. It also couldn’t resist the salted beef and would try every means to steal some. And it likes to eat steamed buns. My mother came to stay for a while and steamed some buns, planning to let them cool down and then put them in the fridge. Unexpectedly, this little guy took one and ran under the bed when my mother wasn’t looking. When my mother found out, half of the bun had already been eaten by it. What a greedy little cat!
Of course, Nuomi also has moments that make me unhappy. Sometimes it will suddenly “run wild” (run and jump around suddenly). My girlfriend was scratched by it when it jumped up. And there is also the problem of hair shedding. As a short – haired cat, the amount of hair it sheds is really astonishing. I already have a vacuum cleaner and a robot sweeper, but there is still cat hair everywhere in the house, which is really a bit annoying.
However, when Nuomi plays with me, it turns into a little angel. It will let me touch it, hug it, and stick to me tightly. It yearns for the outside world and often squats on the desk or windowsill, quietly looking outside, with longing in its eyes.
Nuomi also does some really funny things, like bringing things back. Looking at its cute and interesting appearance, my heart is filled with joy.
Thank you, Nuomi. Because of you, my life has become colorful, full of joy and warmth. You are the most precious partner in my life. I hope to always accompany you, witness more of your growth and happiness, and spend more wonderful times together.
