DianDian: A Special Cat and the Growth of Our Bond

DianDian: A Special Cat and the Growth of Our Bond

In my life, the arrival of DianDian has brought me many special experiences and endless warmth. DianDian was given to me by someone else. When I first brought it back, I was really shocked by its condition. It had ringworm in several places on its body, hadn’t been vaccinated, had diarrhea, and kept sneezing. Later, after going to the doctor, it was found that it had feline calicivirus. Looking at this little life suffering so much, my heart ached. Such a small cat was facing so many problems. At first, I only knew that it had ringworm. Later, I found that its condition was much worse than I thought. At that time, I was really helpless and couldn’t help wondering why someone would give me a cat with so many problems. But since it had come to me, I made up my mind to take good care of it.

The process of taking care of DianDian was really full of hardships. Every midnight, I had to get up to shovel its litter. The smell of its diarrhea was extremely stinky. The second day after bringing it back, I took it to the pet hospital. The doctor prescribed some medicine. I had to apply the ointment to it three times a day and mix the medicine for treating diarrhea in its cat food. Through my perseverance, DianDian finally got better and started to become lively. Seeing it gradually regain its vitality, my heart was full of relief.

DianDian has many unique characteristics. It has a good temper, is bold, eats a lot, and is very lively. However, it is not talkative and rarely meows. It especially likes to knead on me. Its soft paws, stepping on me one after another, seem to be conveying its trust and dependence on me. For a while, as soon as the door was opened, it would run out of the house. Several times, when no one was paying attention, it would quickly slip away from the house like an arrow leaving the string. Once it was even discovered by the neighbor. In order to prevent it from getting lost again, I quickly bought a name tag for it.

DianDian is also a real little glutton. Once, when I was eating chicken wings, it was so greedy that it kept pawing at me. Its eager eyes seemed to be saying, “Master, give me a taste too.” I wanted to coax it to eat nutritional paste, but it was very stubborn. At first, it just secretly licked it a few times, thinking I didn’t notice. But in the end, it obediently ate it, and we made up as before. To take a photo of it, I had to hold it in my arms forcefully. Its reluctant look, trying to escape, blurred the picture, which was really funny. But when I stroked it, it would enjoy it very much, squinting its eyes and looking very comfortable.

The relationship between DianDian and another cat in the house, Zhuti, is also very deep. Zhuti was adopted by me when it was one month old and is the “original inhabitant” of the house. At first, Zhuti was fierce to DianDian every day, hissing and puffing up its fur. After all, it was not used to having a new partner suddenly. But as time passed, their relationship got better and better. Now the two little guys stick together every day. They eat together, drill into my arms when I am playing with my phone, watch TV together, take naps together, and even go to get vaccinated together. Zhuti is very timid and doesn’t dare to go out of the house, while DianDian is very bold and likes to go out for a walk.

Every day, having the company of these two makes me feel extremely happy. I don’t ask for anything else, just hope they can grow up healthily. Every moment of them in my life, whether it is DianDian’s transformation from being sick and weak to being lively, or the deepening friendship between the two of them, makes me feel the beauty and warmth of life. They have become an indispensable part of my life. I look forward to continuing to accompany them to grow up in the days to come and witnessing more of their cute looks and warm interactions.
