An'an's Journey: From Adoption to Motherhood and Beyond

An’an’s Journey: From Adoption to Motherhood and Beyond

Since renting a house, I have been taking good care of An’an. I gradually took her to complete the vaccination, bathed her, and carried out internal and external deworming. Unconsciously, I found that she was getting a little fat quickly. She became more and more like the talking Tom Cat in the APP, looking extremely cute and chubby.

On weekdays, when I clean the balcony, she always watches curiously from the side. Although she is a cat, she is very afraid of heights. Every time she stares at the table and tries to jump, she can only barely jump onto the stool. Her cautious appearance makes people laugh. In our spare time, we often take photos together. The pictures of our “family of three” are full of warmth, recording the little happiness in our lives.

An’an was not very affectionate in nature, and as time passed, she became even more aloof. It was a rare moment for her to come over and lean against me. Most of the time, I had to take the initiative to catch her and hold her in my arms.

In mid – August, I originally planned to take her for the last vaccine shot and arrange for sterilization. However, the doctor’s words shocked me. The doctor said she looked pregnant. I was full of doubts because she had never been out of the house in the two months since I adopted her. With a bit of unease, I had an ultrasound done for her, and sure enough, she was pregnant! At that moment, I was really angry and helpless. I was wondering which “damn cat” (mute) was responsible for this. No wonder she got fat so quickly.

From then on, I installed a surveillance camera and observed her condition every day. She seemed very lazy and sleepy, and her belly became more and more obvious day by day. Looking at An’an, who was pregnant, my heart was full of worry and anticipation.

On the night of August 23rd, An’an suddenly meowed at me. You know, this cat is basically like a little mute usually, so I immediately realized that she was about to give birth. That night, from 8 o’clock until 3:30, for more than seven hours, An’an gave birth to five kittens after going through hardships. Three of them survived fortunately. To my relief, none of the three kittens were folded – ear cats. An’an was really amazing. During the delivery process, An’an bled a lot. Seeing her weak appearance, I felt extremely distressed.

Under An’an’s careful care, the kittens grew up day by day. When taking them to the small park, An’an liked to shuttle through the grass. I put beautiful flowers on her, and she playfully shook the flowers, looking very cute.

Considering that An’an might be lonely, I reluctantly left one kitten to accompany her. When sending the other two kittens away, An’an didn’t show too much sadness. The remaining kitten was still drinking An’an’s milk when it was eight or nine months old, and An’an never refused. Her gentleness really touched me. The remaining kitten is named Xiaoguogai. It is timid, naughty, and very fond of meowing, adding a lot of fun to our lives. In our spare time, the photos of the mother – daughter pair are full of warmth. Sometimes they even accompany us to eat hot pot. Although it’s a pity that the hot pot wasn’t photographed, the warm scene is deeply imprinted in my mind.

In a blink of an eye, it was November, and I finally took An’an to be sterilized. After the operation, watching her get the anti – inflammatory injection and waiting for the wound to heal slowly, I sincerely hoped that she could recover quickly. An’an has always had a small appetite. Even after going through so much, she didn’t gain weight. I originally thought that life would pass slowly and warmly like this. However, the life with An’an is always full of various unexpected stories. Every moment has become a precious memory in my life. I also look forward to creating more wonderful times with An’an and Xiaoguogai in the future.
