In our family, there is a cat named Fantuan. Its arrival, like a warm breeze, quietly changed our family’s life and brought us many unexpected stories and joys.
On the first day Fantuan came to our home, it left a deep impression on us. It was extremely timid. As long as it heard the slightest sound, it would immediately run away in a panic. Its flustered little appearance made people feel both distressed and cute. Fantuan’s previous owners were my mother’s colleagues. They were very kind to Fantuan and provided it with the most expensive and best food, drinks, and toys. However, although they gave Fantuan great material satisfaction, due to their busy work, they didn’t have enough time to accompany it. They just fed it once a day and then went to work. Once, they took Fantuan to the pet hospital for a check – up. The doctor said that according to the situation at that time, Fantuan was likely to suffer from depression. Out of pity for Fantuan, they finally decided to give Fantuan to my mother to raise.

When Fantuan first arrived at our home, it was not familiar with the new environment and always drilled into narrow places, as if those corners could bring it a sense of security. I still remember that the first pile of its feces in our home was actually on my cotton slippers. When my mother saw it, she gently educated it, but Fantuan was so scared that it hid on the window sill and looked a bit autistic. Its pitiful appearance made people can’t help but want to comfort it.
Generally speaking, cats love to sleep, but our Fantuan is different. It is very energetic. Whether it is during the day or at night, its eyes always shine, and it jumps up and down, full of vitality. This made my father, who slept on the sofa, unable to sleep well for several consecutive nights. My father said that Fantuan always wanted to jump onto the sofa and sleep on his head. When he didn’t allow it, Fantuan had no choice but to lie on the coffee table to sleep. My father’s change is also very interesting. He didn’t like small animals like cats and dogs very much before, but since Fantuan came, everything has changed. Now the first thing he does when he comes home every day is to look for Fantuan. When he calls my mother, he always asks, “Where’s the cat? Where’s the cat?” He also always affectionately calls it “kitty”. In the past, my father always went out to chat with his old friends at night before coming back. But since Fantuan came, he doesn’t go out if he can. Now when his old friends call him out, he will say, “I won’t go out. I want to stroke the cat at home.” He will even take all kinds of small videos and send them to his friends.
Every time I go to clean up Fantuan’s feces, I am shocked by the stench. It’s really hard to imagine that such a beautiful cat can have such smelly feces. However, looking at Fantuan’s cute appearance, these small troubles are instantly forgotten. Watching it play happily in the room or lie quietly in a corner, I feel extremely warm.
The arrival of Fantuan has not only brought joy to our family but also made our relationship closer. It has made my father have a new understanding and love for small animals and also given our family more common topics and fun. During the days of getting along with Fantuan, we have witnessed its process from being timid and cowardly to gradually adapting to the new environment and becoming lively and cute. I believe that in the days to come, Fantuan will continue to bring us more surprises and touches, and we will always accompany it, allowing it to grow up healthily and happily in this warm home.
