Since the lovely silver – shaded cat Walnut barged into our lives, everything has changed wonderfully. These days as a new cat owner, every moment is full of surprises and joys, allowing me to deeply experience the unique charm of raising a cat.
Originally, my boyfriend and I didn’t have much affection for cats. Especially my boyfriend, in the first two days when Walnut came, although he took on the tasks of feeding and cleaning the litter box, his heart didn’t seem to be truly touched by this little cat. However, I, without realizing it, quickly fell in love with Walnut. As soon as I saw Walnut’s furry and soft little body, I couldn’t help but “torture” it in various ways. Gently stroking its smooth fur with my hands, feeling that delicate touch; bringing my face close to it, letting it rub its little head against my cheek, enjoying that warmth and intimacy; and tightly hugging it in my arms, as if I wanted to convey all my love to it. My boyfriend was surprised when he saw me like this and said, “I knew about ‘cat – sucking’ on the Internet before. I didn’t expect that you really do it…” In fact, I just rubbed my face against it, but the love for it was really hard to contain.
Walnut has all kinds of behaviors that are so cute that they make people laugh. It can always accurately “lock” our attention. Whether it’s looking around curiously with its big, round eyes or scurrying around the room with its small steps, every move seems to be announcing its presence to us. Its sleeping postures are even more amazing. Sometimes it lies on its back with all four limbs sprawled out, without any image at all, showing its chubby belly; sometimes it curls up into a ball, like a furry ball, sleeping soundly. These cute sleeping postures have become a unique and beautiful scenery in our home.
As time goes by, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my boyfriend has also gradually been conquered by Walnut’s charm. He, who was not very interested in cats originally, now always secretly pets the cat behind my back. Once, I inadvertently saw him hugging Walnut tightly and sleeping together. That intimate look made me a little jealous. I thought, “Wow! How can you hug another girl (Walnut) so tightly!” Also, when we play games, Walnut will come to join in the fun. Sometimes its sleeping appearance is really too ugly, making us occasionally wonder what kind of “little monster” we have raised.With just a random shot, it is a beautiful photo. Its silver – gray fur shines with a charming luster in the sun, paired with those bright big eyes, it is simply the “ceiling of appearance” in the cat world.
In the days of raising a cat, the first thing I do when I get home every day is to kiss Walnut, as if this has become an instinct. Throughout the day, my boyfriend and I will ask eight hundred times, “Where is the cat?” “Look at the cat!” Our eyes always unconsciously follow its figure. We always want to hold and pet the cat. My boyfriend even praises eight hundred times a day, “How come our cat is so beautiful…” Walnut is like a magical little elf, decorating our lives with colors. It not only brings us endless joy but also makes the relationship between my boyfriend and me closer. We will laugh at each other because of an interesting move of Walnut, and we will also discuss how to take better care of Walnut together.
In this world full of uncertainties, the existence of Walnut is like a warm light, illuminating our lives. It makes us feel unconditional love and companionship, and also makes us learn responsibility and dedication. Although taking care of it can be a bit hard sometimes, such as having to clean the litter box regularly and prepare food, in the face of its cute smile and warm company, these efforts become insignificant. The experience of raising a cat is really an indescribable beauty. It makes our lives more complete and our hearts softer. I believe that in the days to come, Walnut will continue to bring us more surprises and touches, and we will always accompany it to witness its growth.
