Yangleduo, this lovely cat, has become a source of joy and warmth in my life since it came to my home. Every day, I can discover new cute things about it and experience various interesting stories during our time together.
Teaching Yangleduo to use the cat scratching post has been a “small battle” between it and me. It always has a special preference for curtains, bed sheets, and sofas, freely showing off its “scratching skills” as if those were its exclusive battlefields. To correct this habit, I really racked my brains. Whenever I found it attacking these “innocent” items again, I would stop it in time and then lead it to the cat scratching post, patiently guiding it. I would gently hold its little paws and demonstrate the scratching action on the cat scratching post, trying to make it understand that this is the right place for it to show its “talent”. Although this process is not easy, seeing it gradually become interested in the cat scratching post and occasionally take the initiative to scratch it a few times, I feel very gratified, as if seeing the dawn of victory in this “battle”.
Yangleduo is extremely clever. Once, it actually discovered the sausage I hid by the bed. When its little head poked to the side of the bed and its eyes lit up when looking at the sausage, I couldn’t help but sigh at its sharpness. At that moment, it was like a little explorer who had discovered a treasure, excited and proud. Sometimes, it would do some cute things that made me couldn’t help but think it was acting coquettishly towards me. For example, it would gently rub its head against my leg, or look at me with its watery eyes and make a soft meow. Whenever this happened, my heart would be melted by it.

During the Mid – Autumn Festival, Yangleduo and I spent it together. It seemed to feel the festive atmosphere and was particularly lively. On that day, it got into my arms and fell asleep by itself. Looking at its quiet sleeping face, my heart was filled with warmth. After waking up, the hair on the back of its head was slightly raised, looking very cute. I couldn’t help but take some photos of it, and even took a “black photo”. Although it might not like it very much, those photos all recorded the interesting moments in its life. It also followed the trend and did a “flower – hand” gesture. Its clumsy and cute action made people laugh heartily. Yangleduo is very gentle when playing. It will gently pounce on toys, with curiosity and joy in its eyes.
September 24th was an important day for Yangleduo – it was going to get vaccinated. At exactly 10 weeks old and weighing two pounds, it welcomed its first vaccination in its cat life. The price of the vaccine in Xi’an is 120 yuan per shot, and the rabies vaccine is 50 yuan. I paid for three shots at one time and was given one rabies vaccine for free, which felt very cost – effective. Since the pet store was just downstairs, we traveled light and took Yangleduo out in a paper bag. This was Yangleduo’s first time going out. It seemed a bit curious and a bit nervous, constantly looking around with its little head. When we arrived at the pet store, everything went very smoothly. It got its first shot without any hitches. After getting the shot, it needed to stay in the hospital for half an hour for observation to see if there were any adverse reactions. During the observation period, I kept praising my Yangleduo for being so obedient and quiet. However, the doctor smiled and said that this was because it was too young and didn’t know what was going on for the first time. It might be different next time.
When a kitten has just been vaccinated, its resistance is at its weakest. The doctor told me that during these few days, I should try to only feed it cat food and not give it other things. The temperature difference between morning and evening is large, so I need to keep it warm and not let it catch a cold. I must not bathe it either. I also need to closely observe its mental state and bowel movements. It will probably return to normal in about three days. Thinking that the second shot will be in 21 days, I hope Yangleduo can be obedient then, get the shot quickly, and go home early. Yangleduo still has a long way to grow. I look forward to experiencing more beauty with it and witnessing it grow up healthily and happily.
