During that long and special epidemic period, life seemed to be put on pause. Finally, in March, the epidemic situation improved slightly. The child at home had been bored and restless for a long time, so I decided to take the child and the cat Xiaobai downstairs to get some fresh air. Xiaobai has always been timid. As soon as it arrived downstairs, it huddled tightly on the bench, its body slightly curled up, not daring to move at all. Its cautious appearance seemed as if everything around was full of danger. In contrast, my daughter was like a cheerful little bird, jumping around in the open space downstairs, with a bright smile on her face, extremely happy. Looking at the completely different states of my daughter and Xiaobai, I couldn’t help but find it very interesting. My daughter also took several photos of Xiaobai with great interest. Unexpectedly, the little one had quite good photography skills. In the photos, Xiaobai looked extremely cute.
Recalling the time when Xiaobai had the sterilization surgery, the doctor specifically told me not to feed it too well, otherwise it would be easy to get fat, and obesity would increase the risk of the cat getting sick. At that time, in the hospital, there was a British Shorthair cat weighing 12 pounds. Because it was too fat, it couldn’t urinate and had to be helplessly infused in the hospital. This scene left a deep impression on me. Since then, I have been extremely cautious when preparing food for Xiaobai, only occasionally feeding it some chicken breast, for fear that it would become a fat cat.

Like many cats, Xiaobai has a special fondness for boxes. Whether it is a big box or a small box, as long as it sees one, it must get in and explore. Sometimes, it will stuff its whole body into a small box, only showing a small head, looking extremely cute. Watching its cute actions of licking its paws and rubbing its head, I always can’t help but laugh. Occasionally, it will hold my hand tightly, as if acting coquettishly, not letting me leave. These small details in life have all become precious memories between me and Xiaobai.
As time passed quietly, in May, I finally followed my heart and got a Siamese cat. This Siamese cat has a unique coat color, like a cute “coal – mining worker”, very interesting. I named it Guigui because I have always had a little dream of “shipping Guigui and Xiaobai”. I still went to the store where I bought Xiaobai before to choose Guigui. In the store, I unexpectedly saw Xiaobai’s brother, that silver – shaded British Shorthair. For various reasons, it had never been sold. The moment I saw it, I couldn’t help but exclaim that it looked so much like Xiaobai! I once suspected that the store owner gave me the timid cat, because Xiaobai was really too timid. As long as there was a slight noise at the door, it would quickly get under the sofa and hide. It was not until I saw that silver – shaded British Shorthair this time that I knew that compared with it, Xiaobai was actually a bit bolder. That silver – shaded British Shorthair, from the time I entered the store until I left, had been hiding in the litter box and never came out, which made me more certain that Xiaobai was not that timid.
Since then, our family has started the life with two cat masters. After raising two cats, I truly experienced the feeling of raising two children. The younger Guigui is lively, cute, and extremely clingy, always hovering around me, acting coquettishly non – stop. While the older Xiaobai is relatively quiet and introverted. I am always worried that Xiaobai will be unhappy because of the new partner, so every time there is a new toy, I will let Xiaobai play with it first, and when there is delicious food, I will also give it to Xiaobai first. Guigui is young and still seems a bit silly. It neither knows fear nor holds grudges. But Xiaobai has grown up and seems to understand everything. Sometimes, when the toy is given to Xiaobai, but as soon as Guigui comes to play, Xiaobai will walk away silently. Looking at its lonely back, my heart always surges with a pang of heartache. It is precisely because of these experiences that I have become more determined not to have a second child. After all, it is really not an easy task to balance the relationship between two “children”.
Finally, I want to share several photos of Xiaobai. Its charming appearance is simply “peerless beauty” and a “heart – stealer”. Once, I put a little wolf – grandma – style hat on it, and it looked extremely funny. However, when sorting out the photos, I accidentally included a photo of Guigui. Last night, I specially took photos of Xiaobai and, by the way, tested the night – shooting function of my mobile phone. In the photos, Xiaobai looked even more cute and charming against the backdrop of the night. Xiaobai and Guigui have become an indispensable part of my life, bringing me endless joy and warmth. I look forward to creating more beautiful memories with them in the days to come.
