When I was a child, whenever I saw other children playing happily with their cats and dogs, I was always filled with envy. Because my mother was severely allergic to hair, keeping cats or dogs was strictly prohibited at home. Since then, having a cat of my own has become the deepest desire in my heart. As I grew older, this dream became even stronger. I often imagined living with a cat in my mind, looking at its soft fur and listening to its gentle purring. What a happy picture that would be. Finally, after I got married, this long – cherished dream came true. I welcomed the first cat in my life and embarked on a journey full of love and warmth.
Before deciding to keep a cat, I did a lot of preparation work. I knew that cats are relatively independent and have their own personalities. Once I brought it home, I had to regard it as an important member of the family, giving it enough care and patience, and never scolding or beating it. I read many books and articles about cat – raising, learning about their living habits, eating habits, and the prevention and treatment of common diseases. I was eagerly looking forward to the arrival of this new family member, imagining what it would look like and guessing about its character.
When the cat really entered my life, I found that it was even more wonderful than I had imagined. It was like a little angel given to me by heaven, bringing me endless surprises and joys. It was extremely well – behaved and never naughty. The electrical wires at home, which might be attractive “toys” for many cats, were never chewed by it, avoiding potential dangers. The walls were also free from scratches, always remaining neat and tidy. The dishes I placed on the table were never touched by it, as if it knew those were human food and it couldn’t touch them casually. Its daily routine was almost the same as ours. It was very quiet at night and never made any noisy sounds to disturb our rest. Every night, I could fall asleep peacefully accompanied by its quiet breathing. This peaceful and warm feeling made me extremely at ease.
Moreover, the price of this cat was very reasonable. I remember it was less than 1,500 yuan. In today’s market environment where pet prices are generally high, being able to have such a cute and well – behaved cat at such an affordable price, I really feel like I’ve found a treasure. It was extremely clingy, as if I was its whole world. During the National Day holiday, because I had something to go out, when I was packing my suitcase to leave, it actually lay in the suitcase and refused to come out. Its reluctant eyes seemed to be saying, “Master, don’t leave me. I want to be with you all the time.” At that moment, my heart melted.
A few days ago, my mother came to visit me. Because my mother was allergic to hair, I had no choice but to send the cat to a friend’s house for a few days. When I went to pick it up, as soon as it saw me, it immediately rushed over and got into my arms, snuggling tightly against me and not moving at all, as if telling me about its missing for these few days. Holding it, I could feel its body trembling slightly, which was the joy of reunion and its deep dependence on me.
Since having this cat, my life has changed dramatically. It is like a warm ray of sunshine, illuminating every corner of my life. Every day when I get home, seeing it running towards me happily and hearing its expectant meows, all the tiredness of the day will disappear instantly. Its company makes me feel an unprecedented sense of happiness and satisfaction, and I finally experience the joy of having a pet. Now, I really feel like I’m the winner of life because I have this extremely precious companionship and love. I know that in the days to come, my cat and I will create more beautiful memories together, and it will continue to accompany me through every journey of my life.
