In my life, cats are like a group of lovely and naughty little elves, bringing me endless joy and making me experience a complex feeling of both love and a bit of annoyance.
Let’s first talk about my male cat, Xiaobai. Its honest and simple appearance always makes people laugh. Xiaobai’s biggest characteristic is its irresistible desire for food. For a delicious treat, it often can’t control itself. It has a very gentle personality and is friendly to everyone. No matter who wants to hold it or touch it, it accepts willingly. It doesn’t have the haughty attitude that cats usually have at all. Its cute and unrestrained appearance makes people can’t help but like it as soon as they see it. However, Xiaobai also has a timid side. I remember when I took it out to get vaccinated and handled the social security card by the way, its timid look really made me laugh and cry. It was nervous all the way, as if everything around was full of danger.
Then there is the female cat, Angela. Everyone’s unanimous evaluation of her is that she is delicate and pretty, but she doesn’t like to be held by others very much. Only I can hold her for a short while. Some people say she looks fierce, but in my eyes, she is just a bit aloof. Angela’s dependence on me is largely due to my “spoiling” her. For example, the habit of eating egg yolks was cultivated by me. Every time I crack an egg, she is like being enchanted and rushes towards me at a sprinting speed. Her eager appearance seems to be saying, “The delicious egg yolk is mine!”
Both Angela and Xiaobai are very clingy. There were two cats at home before, and now there are new members. If more cats join in the future, maybe there will be a whole group. After all, I am their poop – scooping master. As long as I am out of their sight, they will keep calling and looking for me. When I go to the toilet or take a shower, they will be meowing outside the door, as if they are worried that I will fall into a pit or drown in the water. Moreover, these kittens all like to watch me scoop the poop. They look at me with a cute and innocent look. At that moment, although I feel a bit helpless, I have no complaints, because they rely on me so much.
The feeling that when they can’t see me and are meowing, and once they hear my response, they will run towards me happily is really warm. Sometimes when I’m sleeping, they will suddenly stick to me and won’t leave no matter how I try to shoo them away. Or after waking up, they will bring their enlarged faces close to mine. Their intimate actions make me feel their full love. Also, if I eat something and they don’t see it but smell it, they will want to check what I have eaten. Usually, I will open my mouth for them to check. Only after they are satisfied will they walk away. Otherwise, they will keep coming close to me without stopping. Being so relied on by them, this feeling of being needed is really great.
Unconsciously, more than a year has passed, and the cats at home are about to welcome the second litter of kittens. When the first litter was born, it was because I had never petted a little kitten before. Unfortunately, the eldest one died, and the remaining two were taken away by my roommate and another friend. In order to satisfy the friend who had already paid the deposit, I had no choice but to let the cat have a second litter. Now, the cat has been pregnant for almost seven months. The reason for having a second litter is also that the first litter was too small to be shared among friends. Through the B – ultrasound examination, the three kittens in the belly have already been reserved. Although I am a bit helpless, I am also looking forward to the arrival of new lives.
Talking about the health problems of cats, my roommate’s kitten has short eye corners and tears every day. The doctor said that it would cost 4500 yuan to open one eye corner. This price is really too high. I myself am reluctant to spend so much money on opening my own eye corner, let alone for a cat. This also makes me truly realize that raising a cat is not an easy thing and requires a lot of energy and money.
There is also an interesting thing. I even took a video of the big cats doing something intimate. The first time was in the middle of the night. My friend came back from outside and saw it, then woke me up and said that Xiaobai was “doing something”. And almost every time it doesn’t last more than a minute, about 30 seconds. Xiaobai’s performance really makes people feel both funny and helpless.
These cats, although they can be naughty sometimes and bring me some small troubles, bring me more love and joy. They are an indispensable part of my life. I look forward to spending more wonderful times with them and witnessing their growth and changes.
