In my warm little home lives a super – gentle and a bit timid cat. Her name is Yuanyuan, a six – month – old silver – shaded British Shorthair.
Yuanyuan’s gentle character makes her an “angel” in the cat world. No matter who fiddles with her or moves her around, she never resists. She just obediently allows others to “torture” her. On ordinary days, she is always quiet, as if the hustle and bustle of the whole world has nothing to do with her. But once I get home, she seems to change. She immediately starts meowing, and the meows are full of her longing and anticipation for me. Then, she will lie down, expose her soft belly, and signal me to play with her. Her appearance is really endearing.
Yuanyuan has a deep fear of going out. Although she occasionally squats at the door and looks out curiously, that’s just looking. She never dares to step out of the door. Every time I try to carry her out, she will instantly start struggling wildly. Her little paws wave in the air, and her body twists desperately, as if there is some terrible monster waiting for her outside. Her timid appearance makes people laugh and feel a bit sorry for her at the same time.
From the perspective of breed, Yuanyuan is not a pure – bred silver – shaded British Shorthair. So when taking pictures, she may not have the standard and stunning appearance like those pure – bred cats. But in my eyes, she is the most beautiful little cat in the world. Every look and every move of hers exudes a unique charm. Even if she occasionally does something bad, such as secretly scratching a corner of the sofa or knocking over a small object on the table, when I see her extremely cute little face, my heart instantly softens. All the blame turns into full tolerance and doting.
Once, I was sitting at the desk, ready to study. Yuanyuan seemed to sense something and walked over slowly. First, she rubbed against my feet, trying to attract my attention. Seeing that I didn’t respond, she actually jumped onto the desk and lay on my book, blocking my sight, as if saying, “Master, stop studying. Play with me for a while.” Looking at her coquettish appearance, I really had no way to deal with her. I could only put down the book in my hand temporarily and play with her for a while.
There are also times when I see her lying on the ground for no reason, with her little head tilted and her eyes staring straight at a certain place. I don’t know what she is doing. I try to explore her little world, but she ignores me and still immerses herself in her own little world. Her focused look is curious and cute.
Today, I specially bought a new mat for Yuanyuan. When I put the mat on the ground, she was immediately attracted. First, she carefully circled around the mat, sniffing it with her nose. After making sure there was no danger, she slowly lay down on it. She rolled around on the new mat, with a look of satisfaction on her face, and from time to time, she made a purring sound, as if expressing her appreciation for this new gift from me. Looking at her happy appearance on the new mat, my heart is also filled with joy.
Yuanyuan, this gentle and a bit timid cat, has long become an indispensable part of my life. With her cuteness and gentleness, she has filled every corner of my life, bringing me endless joy and warmth. In the days to come, I look forward to creating more beautiful memories with her, allowing this special emotion between humans and cats to continue and become deeper and deeper over time.
