The Stories of My Two Cats: Yin Duo and Tang Dou

In my life, cats play an extremely important role. They are like the flavorings in life, adding countless colors to the ordinary days.

The first cat I had is named Yin Duo. It looks chubby and very cute, but in fact, it only weighs six catties. Since it was sterilized, it has only gained two catties. For me, its health is the most important. Whether it is fat or thin really doesn’t matter. Yin Duo is extremely timid and still can’t accept brushing its teeth. When I took it to have its teeth cleaned last year, it really scared the little guy. At that time, I made up my mind that this year I must brush its teeth well, but until now, this plan still hasn’t been realized.

Later, I met my lover. He was very jealous that I had a cat of my own. Under his persistent persuasion, we brought back another little cat and named it Tang Dou. Originally, having raised one cat, I was too conceited at that time and never expected that the new – coming Tang Dou would be so different from the healthy – growing Yin Duo. Tang Dou was simply a sick cat. It was not until four months after coming to my home that it gradually improved. Because we had to apply medicine to it, we had to shave its fur.

Every day, it was dyed yellow by the medicine. Washing its ears became a compulsory course before we bathed it. Unfortunately, it suffered from gastrointestinal diseases again and had to go to the hospital for four days of intravenous drips. Finally, when it turned one year old, we found that it had a lot of tears and secretions, so we started a long journey of seeking medical treatment again. Finally, before this summer, all its problems were cured.

However, the relationship between Yin Duo and Tang Dou is not as good as it looks in the photos. Because we lacked the time for the two cats to recognize each other’s smell at the beginning, their relationship is very tense now. Tang Dou has probably been beaten a lot. As long as Yin Duo is around, it is very cautious. Only then did I discover that my Yin Duo is not only grumpy but also heavy – handed and has become fond of hissing. In fact, because Yin Duo is timid, it is more afraid than Tang Dou. I especially regret not considering its feelings at that time. Now, we try our best to treat them equally. As long as someone holds one cat, the other one will immediately be doted on.

Looking back on the bits and pieces of these two cats since they came to my home, there have been laughter, tears, and worries. Yin Duo has changed from the original timid but cute little guy to being a bit grumpy due to the addition of the new member. Tang Dou has gone through the hardships of being sick and finally recovered. Their existence has made me deeply understand the difficulty of raising cats and also brought me full of warmth and touch.

Next year, my biggest wish is that Yin Duo and Tang Dou can get along harmoniously. I look forward to seeing them playing together, eating together, and no longer being hostile to each other. I believe that as long as we continue to take care of them with our hearts and give them enough love and patience, these two lovely cats will definitely become the best partners for each other, grow up happily in this home together, and bring us more beautiful memories.
