The Unique Growth Story of My Silver Shaded Cat Doudou

The Unique Growth Story of My Silver Shaded Cat Doudou

In the world of cats, each one has a unique personality, and my silver shaded cat Doudou, with her distinctive character, adds a special touch to my life.

When my friend brought Doudou to my home, she was still a little kitten less than two months old. Her pitiful appearance immediately tugged at my heartstrings.I was extremely worried and took her straight to the pet hospital in the afternoon. We spent a long afternoon in the hospital, undergoing various examinations. Finally, it was diagnosed as eye inflammation and upper respiratory tract infection. Fortunately, there were no more serious problems. However, buying medicine cost more than 1000 RMB. Looking at the little her wearing an Elizabethan collar, my heart was full of distress.

When she first arrived home, Doudou didn’t seem to have much of a stress response to the new environment. Perhaps because she was so young, she slept for a whole day. The next day, this little guy was like a different cat. She started jumping around and running around the house. When she was by my side, I would take off the Elizabethan collar for her to make her feel more comfortable. Gradually, Doudou’s true nature was completely revealed. She became very naughty and staged “parkour” shows at home every day, dashing quickly from one end of the living room to the other, then jumping onto the sofa and onto the table, never stopping for a moment. Moreover, she had a habit that gave me a headache – she didn’t let me hold her. Whenever I tried to pick her up, she would struggle to escape. Her little body was extremely flexible, and sometimes it made me so angry that I wanted to gently spank her. Her claws were sharp. Although she didn’t scratch people on purpose, when she accidentally touched, she would also leave marks on my skin. One day, while she was sound asleep, I carefully trimmed her claws. But this silly girl didn’t notice anything when she woke up and still ran around carelessly as before.

Although Doudou was naughty and didn’t let me hold her, she also had a cute side. When she was sleeping, she became extremely docile, just like a different cat. She let me pose her however I wanted. I would gently hold her in my arms, stroking her soft fur, enjoying this rare peaceful moment. Looking at her sleeping face, with her long eyelashes casting a faint shadow on her cheeks and her small mouth moving from time to time as if she was having a wonderful dream, my heart was filled with tenderness.

In addition, perhaps because she was a domestic – raised cat, Doudou especially liked to be with people. At night, wherever my husband and I slept, she would follow us to that room to play. When I went to the bathroom, she had to follow me. If I didn’t open the door to let her in, she would keep scratching the door outside and meowing softly. Her voice sounded so pitiful that I really couldn’t bear to refuse. However, once I let her into the bathroom, she would run around everywhere, getting into all the corners. When she came out, she was covered in dust and dirty. Even so, I still loved her very much. Every time I saw her naughty appearance, the troubles in my heart would disappear instantly.

In the days of getting along with Doudou, there were laughter, helplessness, and more importantly, full of love. Her presence made my home full of vitality and energy. I know that every cat has its own temperament and personality. Although Doudou doesn’t let me hold her, she accompanies my husband and me in her own unique way with her liveliness and dependence. I sincerely wish every cat can grow up healthily and happily like Doudou, bringing endless joy and warmth to their owners.
