In my cozy little home, there lives an incredibly adorable “little member” – a British Shorthair Silver Shaded cat named Doubao. Now, he is 15 months old and weighs up to 12 jin, just like a chubby “little white pig”.
Speaking of how Doubao came into my life, it was truly fate. At first, I planned to go to the cattery to choose a British Shorthair Blue cat, but the one I liked needed to be waited for. Just when I was feeling a bit disappointed, I caught a glimpse of Doubao in the corner. At that moment, it was as if a beam of light instantly struck me, and I didn’t hesitate to decide on this little guy. I still remember that when he first arrived home, he wasn’t shy at all. He ate, drank, relieved himself, and even kneaded the soft surface contentedly, looking so cute that he melted my heart in an instant.
The British Shorthair Silver Shaded breed probably has the biggest drawback of shedding a lot. Cat hair often floats around the house like snowflakes. But its advantages are also very prominent. It has an extremely good temper, never holds grudges, and is always cheerful and full of a humorous and silly nature, bringing endless joy to my life.
There are many unforgettable moments in Doubao’s growth process. I still remember the first time he saw heavy snow. His curious and innocent look made me laugh. But right after that, he vomited for several days, which really worried me. I quickly took him to the veterinarian. During those days, I was constantly worried. It was only when he recovered that I finally felt relieved.
When Doubao was a kitten, he was very clingy and always liked to accompany me while I was working. He would lie quietly beside my computer, rubbing his fluffy little body against me, as if telling me that he was there for me. But as he grew up, this clingy characteristic gradually faded away. Now, he doesn’t seem to be that interested in my work anymore. Most of the time, he just finds a comfortable place to take a nap.
Doubao has a really high level of cuteness and can be called a “handsome guy”. His big round eyes seem to hide the stars and the sea. Occasionally, he tilts his head, and it’s simply enough to melt anyone’s heart. Once, when he saw the flowers at home, he stared at them eagerly, looking as if he wanted to eat them. His silly and cute look was really hilarious.
However, the experience of taking Doubao to the vet wasn’t that pleasant. Every time we got to the hospital, this little guy, who is usually fearless, would curl up into a ball in fear and tremble all over. Looking at his pitiful appearance, I felt both sorry for him and found it a bit funny. But sometimes, he would show his “contemptuous look”, with that arrogant little look in his eyes, as if saying “I’m not afraid at all”.
As Doubao grew up, his weight also increased day by day. Now, at 12 jin, he has become a real little chubby cat. He is quite “dominant” at home. There is no place he hasn’t slept in, whether it’s on the sofa, the bed, or even in the closet, all have left his “beautiful figure”. And he is especially gluttonous. The scenes of him stealing food are not rare. Every time I catch him, he looks so innocent, as if saying “Being fat is the result of my own efforts”.
There was also a major event in Doubao’s growth – he was neutered. At that time, looking at his confused and slightly wronged expression, I really didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. However, after being neutered, he seems to have become even more gentle, leisurely enjoying his “cat life” all day long.
Since I got Doubao, my life has changed dramatically. He is like a little angel, constantly healing my heart. No matter how much pressure or troubles I encounter outside, when I get home and see his cute appearance, all my tiredness will disappear instantly. Really, having a cat is an extremely happy thing. It fills my life with joy and makes me feel endless warmth, as if it can really make me live a long and happy life. I will always accompany Doubao, witness more of his growth moments, and spend countless wonderful times together in the future.
