Garuru: My Adorable Silver Shaded British Shorthair

Garuru, my beloved Silver Shaded British Shorthair, has woven himself into the very fabric of my life, filling it with countless moments of joy, laughter, and love. Each entry in my little journal about him is like a precious gem, capturing the unique and wonderful journey we’ve shared together.

On March 28, 2020, Garuru underwent the neutering procedure. After he recovered, he seemed to turn into a bit of a goofy and innocent fellow, which only added to his charm. His post – neutering behavior was both endearing and amusing, making me love him even more.

Going back to December 2, 2019, I took him to get a rabies vaccination. That day, Garuru put on a performance of a lifetime. He let out ear – piercing howls that sounded like a pig being slaughtered, even though the needle hadn’t even touched his skin yet! It was quite a spectacle. And when the actual injection happened, he didn’t seem to feel a thing. Afterward, he gave me this look of disdain, as if to say that I had made a big deal out of nothing. It was one of those days that made me shake my head in amusement.

On September 19, 2019, I noticed that he seemed to have put on a little weight. It was a sign that he was growing and thriving, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. By August 27, 2019, Garuru had truly grown into a big cat. He had come a long way from the little kitten I first brought home.

One of the memorable events was his first bath. He was a bit hesitant and scared at first, but with gentle coaxing, he got through it. And then there was his first experience with a basketball. He chased after it, pounced on it, and played with it in his own unique way, showing his playful and curious nature.

April 20, 2019, marked the start of the shedding season. It was a time when I truly understood the challenges of owning a cat. The amount of fur he shed was astonishing. I quickly learned that wearing black clothes around him was a bad idea. Every time I got too close to him and spoke, I would end up with cat hair in my eyes and mouth. It was a messy situation, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I just had to remember to take off my black clothes before picking him up.

So, what’s it like to own a Silver Shaded British Shorthair like Garuru? All I can say is that I regret not getting him earlier. The joy and happiness he brings into my life are beyond words. There’s something about his soft, fluffy body that makes me want to hug and kiss him all the time, even though he often resists. I find myself constantly wanting to buy him all sorts of things, from milk powder and canned food to vitamins, nutritional paste, and hairball remedies. I can’t help but update his photos frequently and share our stories with others.

Garuru is named after the Garuru from “Digimon.” He’s a Virgo male cat, and he’s single with no bad habits (well, except for peeking in when I’m taking a shower or using the toilet). He has a unique personality that combines playfulness, curiosity, and a touch of stubbornness. He’s my little companion, and I cherish every moment spent with him. Whether he’s sleeping peacefully, playing with his toys, or giving me that look of disdain, he always manages to make my day. I look forward to many more years of creating beautiful memories with Garuru by my side, and I know that he will continue to bring a ray of sunshine into my life.
