In my home, the lives of my cats are like a hilarious comedy, with amusing stories playing out every day. Among them, the growth journey of Little Mimi has added countless joyful plots to this “comedy”.
I still remember when Little Mimi was a kitten. Her extremely contrasting personalities of being quiet and active were really impressive. When she was quiet, she seemed to be in a deep state of “paralysis”, motionless and immersed in her own dreamland. All kinds of unrestrained sleeping postures abounded. Sometimes she would lie on her back with her belly completely exposed, her limbs stretching casually, not caring about her image at all. Sometimes she would curl up into a ball, looking just like a furry sphere, with only a small head sticking out, sleeping so soundly that anyone who saw her couldn’t help but wonder if she was extremely tired to sleep so obliviously. Once she got active, she seemed to have an “epileptic fit”, jumping up and down all over the house, full of energy and making people overwhelmed. That’s why there are a large number of photos of her sleeping in my photo album. Every time I flip through them, I can recall those cute and funny looks of her when she was little.

As time passed, Little Mimi thrived in her “happy life” of eating and sleeping, and to be exact, she visibly gained weight. Her originally small and delicate body gradually became rounder. The way she stared seriously at the food seemed to say, “Food is my everything.” Most of the time, whenever the camera was pointed at her, she had a lazy and tired expression, as if protesting, “Don’t disturb me while I’m enjoying life.” Her long and flexible tail, just like her father’s, was full of charm. It always swayed with her movements, as if it were a barometer of her emotions, sometimes held high, sometimes swaying gently, adding a lot of charm to her every move.
Now, let’s talk about the relationship between Little Mimi and Big Mimi in our family. Big Mimi is a Chinese rural tabby cat with a somewhat timid personality. After Little Mimi came to the house, her life became quite “eventful”. At first, facing Little Mimi, the “outsider”, Big Mimi could only express her dissatisfaction and fear by hissing, while Little Mimi was fearless and always chased Big Mimi around, scaring Big Mimi at a loss. So, it was really rare to capture a photo of them in the same frame. Once, they briefly coexisted peacefully for a while, but each had their own thoughts. Little Mimi opened her big eyes and looked at Big Mimi curiously, as if saying, “What are you looking at?” And Big Mimi replied with a look of disgust, “So what if I’m looking at you?” Their interesting interaction made people laugh. Another time, during their fight, Little Mimi was kicked under a doll by Big Mimi and stayed there blankly, completely losing her usual liveliness. Her cute and dazed look was really both pitiful and funny. Although it seems that they are very affectionate in the photo, in fact, this is just a captured moment during their fight. Behind it, there are more chases and “showdowns” full of “gunpowder” between them.
In the days spent with Little Mimi and Big Mimi, these little interesting things have become the most precious treasures in my life. Watching Little Mimi grow up from a tiny and adorable kitten, showing her unique personality, and seeing the relationship between her and Big Mimi constantly changing during the process of getting along, I feel sincerely happy and satisfied. I look forward to more joys that they will bring me in the future and more warm chapters that we will write together.
