Nuomi: My Adorable and Naive Silver Shaded Cat

Nuomi: My Adorable and Naive Silver Shaded Cat

In the cozy nest of my home, there are two lovely cats. One is the fierce little black cat Doubao, and the other is the silver shaded British Shorthair Nuomi, whom I regard as a little angel. Nuomi is a precious gift from my friend. When it was brought to my home at the age of three months, its soft and waxy appearance instantly captured my heart. It was so cute that I couldn’t help but want to hold it in my hands all the time.

When Nuomi first arrived home, it had folded ears, and its adorable look could really melt anyone’s heart. However, it was extremely timid. Whenever I spoke a little louder, it would be so scared that it would hide under the sofa by itself. Its silly appearance was both funny and a bit pitiful. At that time, because folded ear cats are prone to osteochondropathy, I was very worried about Nuomi’s health. I spent a long time researching how to take care of it. I also specially bought a lot of chondroitin, nutritional creams, blood tonic creams, and other health products, full of the hope of enabling it to grow up healthily. But unexpectedly, after a few months, Nuomi’s ears stood up, and this unexpected surprise relieved a lot of my concerns.

Now, Nuomi is already eight months old. It seems to have learned to “talk” and can express its own opinions. But it is still very timid. As soon as it hears the sound of the elevator outside, it will immediately find a place to hide. Compared with the little black cat Doubao at home, I think Nuomi appears more “silly and cute”. It took me half a year to raise it before it could barely understand its own name. It always looks silly and dull, not smart at all. For example, when it does naughty things like breaking a vase or pushing things to the ground, it always flees the scene as quickly as possible. Whenever I criticize it, it will show that innocent expression of “Who am I? Where am I? What are you saying? Why are you being fierce to me?”, making me feel angry and amused at the same time. Because of this, my dad gave it a nickname, “Bubu”, but with its timid appearance, it really doesn’t match this name very well.

However, Nuomi also has irresistible advantages. Its temper is extremely good. It never bites or is fierce to people. If you accidentally step on its tail, it will just look at you pitifully and won’t make any resistant moves. When it is in a good mood, it will knead with its paws and rub its little head against you. Those affectionate actions make me feel full of love.

Although Nuomi behaves very obediently and cutely when getting along with people, when it is with other cats, it seems to be quite capable. When I took it to visit someone else’s home before, it even scared the golden shaded British Shorthair in that house so much that it hid under the bed. When fighting with the little black cat Doubao at my home, it is also not to be outdone and often has a close fight with Doubao.

When Nuomi first came to my home, it couldn’t do anything. It couldn’t wash its face or bury the cat litter. But it is very smart and has been learning various skills from Doubao. Now, the lying postures, sleeping postures, and all kinds of behaviors of the two cats are extremely similar. They can even learn to “say” various words and become cuter and cuter. Most of the time, they love each other, and occasionally they will fight and play. Watching them play and act coquettishly, my heart is healed.

Nuomi, this “silly and sweet” silver shaded British Shorthair cat, is like a little angel, bringing endless joy and warmth to my life. I cherish every day spent with it and Doubao. I hope they can always stay healthy and happy and continue to accompany me, writing more warm stories between us.
