In my life journey, having a cat has always been a dream in my heart. And the arrival of Coco has turned this dream into a beautiful reality. Coco is a silver shaded British Shorthair cat. Among the kittens in the same litter, it was the smallest one. When it was two months old and I took it to the pet hospital for a vaccination, the doctor was surprised and said that it looked like a one-month-old kitten. With its tiny body and a pair of especially big eyes, the moment I first saw it, my heart seemed to melt.
On the first day I brought Coco home, it was thin and weak, with a pitiful look in its eyes, making me unable to resist the urge to take good care of it. As my first cat, I cherished it so much that I was afraid of dropping it when holding it in my hand and afraid of it melting when holding it in my mouth. And Coco didn’t let me down. Its personality is just like an angel. It is quiet and well-behaved, always going to the litter box to use the toilet on its own, and it is never picky about food, which saves me a lot of trouble. Looking at its obviously top-heavy appearance, it was really cute. Sometimes it would act coquettishly and ask for a hug, and its cute look was irresistible.
As time went by, Coco grew up healthily and gradually gained weight. Its originally small face became chubby, and it transformed from a little kitten into a beautiful cat. When it was a kitten, I always liked to play with it using my hand. Maybe it got used to it, later it always wanted to bite my hand. But as soon as I made a pitiful sound like “Ouch, it hurts so much”, it would immediately stop and then lick the place it had just bitten with its tongue. Although a cat’s tongue is prickly and the licking doesn’t feel very good, I still couldn’t bear to be angry with it because its cautious look was really adorable.
Coco is really well-behaved. Every time I mention it, I feel proud. It never damages things or makes a lot of noise. When I sleep, it quietly stays by my side. After I wake up, it stretches, eats something, and then immediately comes to me asking for love and attention. When I go to the toilet, it follows me. When I take a shower, it patiently waits outside the bathroom door. Every day when I come home from work, as soon as it hears the sound of the key unlocking the door, it will quickly run to the door to greet me. Its enthusiastic appearance makes all my tiredness of the day disappear.
Later, when Coco was over one year old, it got pregnant, and that was the period when it was the fattest in its life. When it was more than 40 days pregnant, I took it for a prenatal checkup, and everything went smoothly. The doctor said that the fetal heartbeats of more than two kittens were normal and everything was fine in all aspects. Finally, on June 1st, 2018, Children’s Day, Coco successfully gave birth to her babies and became a great cat mother.
Giving birth was really hard for Coco. So, every day I gave it a variety of nutritious foods, such as pig’s trotter soup, crucian carp soup, canned food, nutritional cream, and chicken breast, hoping that it could regain its strength as soon as possible.
The three kittens that Coco gave birth to were all male. They were healthy and beautiful. Now, these kittens have all gone to new homes and have inherited their mother’s good qualities, all being very well-behaved. The new owners treat them very well, which makes me feel relieved. And Coco has successfully gained weight and regained its lovely round face.
Before I knew it, Coco has been with me for 580 days. It has brought me countless joys and warmth, and every moment spent with it is precious to me. Later, Coco got a new sister – a red-point Siamese cat named Xia Cha. The two of them sleep, eat, and groom each other every day. Even when one of them goes to the toilet, the other will wait outside. Their relationship is really wonderful. Sometimes I even feel that I might fall out of favor, but seeing how much they love each other, I am truly happy.
Coco, this lovely little angel, has become an indispensable part of my life. I look forward to spending more wonderful times with it and Xia Cha in the future, witnessing more of their growth and happiness. No matter what happens, I will always be by their side, giving them full love and care.
