My silver shaded British Shorthair cat, Haru, has had a really interesting growth process. When it was a kitten, it was extremely picky about eating. My boyfriend (Dan-na-sang) spoiled it rotten. He would do anything to make Haru happy. Because of this, Haru developed the bad habit of not eating properly, and in the end, we had to feed it by hand. When we first brought Haru home, my strongest feeling was that I couldn’t even have a meal in peace. Every time I sat at the dining table ready to enjoy my food, as soon as I looked up, I would meet Haru’s eager eyes, as if it was silently protesting, “Why do you have delicious food and I don’t?” It felt like I was doing something terrible behind its back.
When little Haru was a kitten, it was incredibly clingy. Its favorite thing to do was to sleep on my chest. At that time, it was just a small, fluffy ball. Lying quietly on my chest, its gentle breathing was like the softest melody in the world. It was truly an angel sent to earth. Time flies. Looking back, I used to be troubled by trivial matters in life and felt that the days were long. But Haru’s growth has been incredibly fast. Before I knew it, it has grown from a little kitten to what it is now. Looking at it in the camera, which is gradually maturing, I can’t help but sigh, “My ‘daughter’ has grown up.” Although in fact, it’s a neutered male cat.

As it grew older, Haru began to show the naughty side of cats and gradually started to tear up the house. However, overall, it is still very well – behaved. At one and a half years old, except for urinating everywhere before being neutered, it has only really made a mess by knocking things to the ground twice. Haru is extremely curious about the world. Anything unknown can attract its attention. The first time it saw a water dispenser, it observed it so carefully, as if it was studying some profound scientific problem. Its eyes were fixed on the water flow without blinking, and it would occasionally test the water with its little paw. It is afraid of water, but also has an inexplicable love for it. It always hovers around the water, occasionally stretching out its paw to play with the water. This is really one of the great unsolved mysteries in the cat world. When a new litter box was brought home, it couldn’t wait to get in and dig around in the cat litter, exploring this new territory.
Haru is also an out – and – out glutton. It has no resistance to delicious food. As soon as it hears the sound of opening a can, it will rush over at full speed. Besides eating, it has also developed an interest in watching TV. It often squats in front of the TV, staring intently at the screen, as if it can understand the plot. When it sleeps, its appearance is extremely cute. It often squints its eyes and sticks out a little tongue, which makes people laugh. This is also one of the unsolved mysteries in the cat world. Once, my boyfriend showed it a cat video, but Haru looked very disdainful. Its eyes seemed to be saying, “Is that all? It’s so boring!” It often shows off its soft and enchanting figure in front of me. It stretches its body and makes various difficult movements, as if deliberately mocking me, a “fatty” who is so stiff that I can’t even do simple yoga poses. It often does some funny things, like shouting “I want to fly, meow~” and then jumping vigorously, but only fluttering in place. When I’m working, it always comes to make trouble. It jumps on the documents I’m sorting out or plays with the tools, making me laugh and cry. Just after being neutered, it was still wearing an Elizabethan collar, but it still tried to stop me from working overtime and going on business trips. As soon as it saw me sitting in front of the computer or packing my luggage, it would come over and try to get my attention in various ways, trying to make me stop what I’m doing and play with it.
In our family, there is also a particularly interesting scene, that is, the series of me and my boyfriend competing for the cat. Every time we both want to hold Haru and play with it, Haru shuttles back and forth between us. It will look at me affectionately, as if to say, “Master, I like you the most!” But the next second, it will show a sad look because my boyfriend ignores it while working, making my boyfriend feel very sorry. Finally, of course, it’s indispensable to end this record with a few beautiful photos of Haru. However, oops, once I almost put the wrong photos. Fortunately, I found out in time. The following photos are the ones that can really show Haru’s cuteness. Looking at Haru in the photos, I can almost feel what’s on its mind: “Tsk tsk, these two cat owners are really speechless sometimes. I can’t even look at them.” Haru’s existence has filled our lives with laughter and surprises. It has long become an indispensable part of our lives.
